I read in the Lombardia live ticker that Susan is retiring from Cyclingnews today, after 9 years.

I'd just like to say thank you very much for all the work you've done on the forum since it started in 2009. I don't know how many times you've been insulted by unhappy users, but you remained always polite. You have all my respect for that.

I don't know if you will continue as a mod, but I assume it was part of your job, so I'm guessing no. Hopefully we might still see you as a regular user every now and then.

All the best for the future!

Agree 100%.

Susan actually stepped back from the moderation side some time ago. She was able to crack the whip on occasion but always let a discussion flow.
While her even hand will be missed i too want to wish her all the best in her 'retirement' from CN.

Ah, thanks Afrank - good news!

Still all the best Susan for your professional career and thanks for all the race reports and ticker updates...

Thanks all.

As Dr. Mas said, I pulled back from active moderation a while ago. I will stay on as an advisor to the other mods and of course will take action if needed. But that will be the limit of my participation.

Meanwhile, I am very much looking forward to spending more time with my family, pursuing my personal interests and re-discovering my long-neglected hobbies. And I will of course continue to follow cycling passionately.

Good luck on your future endeavors Susan. Hope to still see you on the forum from time to time (hopefully under friendly circumstances instead of a moderator/banning/vortex type debate. :p)

If it makes you feel a little better you may in some small way have helped make her retirement sweeter.;)
Good luck Susan, in whatever you do next.

Sorry to see you go, Susan. I'll always remember back when you used to post stuff like this all the time:

I also would like to wish you a happy retirement from the daily hassle of dealing with so many children. You know that I have always felt particular esteem for your efforts, and that I enjoyed and appreciated our personal communication.

All the best, be lucky, be happy!

Visit CN forum after a long, long time (occasional relapse) and I don't underschtand.
Why all the fuzz ? She's not gone and never will. She's forum addict, but first of all: bann-addict. :D

Susan, if you should ever be healed (chance is pretty low), I'll visit you and you'll recieve the often promised flower bouqet. 100%
You never had an easy time with all those sexistic people. Me included.

Auf Wiedersehen !

Thank you Mew. I haven't stopped working entirely (discovered it is nice to have a little income) but have cut waaaaaaay back. Doing lots of baking, sewing and Kitty-time, and very much looking forward to the first vacation: a week on the North Sea in the Netherlands next week.
