Gowes cycles Yes it's a scam website

I ordered a new 2014 BMC Granfondo GF01 from gowescycles.com Does anyone have any knowledge about Gowes Cycles? I paid with PayPal and they said once the bike reaches the U.S. I can track it with DHL. Hope I didn't make a mistake. I tried to cancel my order and asked for a refund and have not heard anything from them. It's a scam website.

The BMC website does not list Gowes in Jakarta as a retailer.
I notice Gowes sells Cervelo - this company does not allow their bikes on-line.
I suggest you contact BMC and ask them your question.

I hope you didn't make a mistake either.

Whatever the price is/was, you should spend a little time asking a few questions to people that know their way around bikes here in the forum.

I just went to their website to read their terms and conditions, you can still cancel your order up until the 28th day after you receive your goods. Seems like a generous policy if it's legit.

Maybe there's someone here in the forum that has dealt with them, like raywillingsjr or a few other members. Good luck.

I'm guessing you bought it from there as the price was "to good to be true"? Unfortunately, I think that might well turn out to be correct. Some previous threads:

Do not order anything from goewescycles.com it is a scam website. I found out to late. I'm hoping PayPal will refund my money. I ordered a new 2014 BMC Granfondo GF01 and when I questioned them about shipping information and a tracking number they could not provide any information. I cancelled my order and have not heard from them. Buyer beware. Thanks to all that replied to my original post. God bless you and be safe on your bikes. Americans are always in a hurry so it's dangerous for us bike riders in Chicago. It's a beautiful city just rude drivers.

I have made the same mistake! I'have ordored a wilier toni bevilacqua from Gowescycles. They don't answer to my mails, they don't answer on the gowes website surface... I try to get back my money, but I don't know how can I start. PayPal say that the payment was not a purchase , only a money transfer. Do you any tips to me?

Sorry to inform you but I think you already know that this is a scam website and you lost whatever money you sent them. That sounds harsh and I apologize for that but next time you'll be all the wiser as this has become an expensive lesson on internet shopping.

Throughout our numerous threads you can find reputable online retailers to purchase cycling equipment/gear/bikes with a simple search. You can even just throw out a question to the forum as to where you can find the best deals for online and brick and mortar purchases.

Good luck in the future, again I'm sorry that you had to learn a hard lesson that lot's of others have also had to learn.

I thought that I ay by PayPall so what problem can I have?
After, the next day I've checked the net that how is going with GOWECICLES... ... I1have found the forum after the wrong dicision..
Yes, hard lesson!
Now I'm in contact with PayPal, I have not too much hope, but maybe I will have the protection...

I thought that if I pay by PayPall so what problem can I have? PayPal is a high security sistem, and they has buyer protection. - but GOWESCYCLES is not a seller, not a webshop. The payment is a directly transfer...

If you tried the bike why didn't you buy it from the place where you tried it?

If you paid for the bike via PayPal and it hasn't been sent PayPal fees get you protection and they can reverse the payment.
