I think the goal posts may have been shifted with the RS-LEO merger.
Originally, it was a 4 year deal, same as Sky.
Now they say:

As for the rest, who knows with the UCI?
Financial guarantees, or maybe just the size of the brown envelope.

Do not understand the multi year licences as seems the teams involved still need to pas the same criteria as those without a licence. I do not understand how it is meant to work and in twitter conversation with Vaughters earlier this year seemed teams do not really understand it either.

Anyone able to explain the benefit a team gets from having a licence for next year?

Even tho it appears the licenses are reviewed on a yearly basis, it appears
that giving a team a 4 year license basically says to the well healed, well funded teams, that unless you suddenly become insolvent during the current season, that you're pretty much guaranteed a WT license for those 3 subsequent years, like a provisional license.

Example - a team like Liquigas are always going to get a result and points for a large portion of events during the year, so as long as they don't suddenly lose all their financial backing, they're going to get their license renewed.

Well that's how I understand it anyway.

News coming through that Julian Dean has broken some bones in a crash at the GreenEdge camp.

A team spokesman said the seven-time Tour de France veteran would have to stay off his road bike for up to a fortnight, but was keen to return sooner and he won't need surgery.

That's the latest I heard not sure if any official announcements, think they will be lost in the new license even if they did plan to

Just a question, all this championing of 17 riders at the champs but isn't it 15? If Durbo and Hepburn aren't signing until February then how will they be allowed to be in GE colours?

Just listening to Aussie commercial news

In the story on Greenedge's license,
"the team includes jack bobridge, who Lance Armstrong says, could be a future tour de france winner"

Yep, three years ago Lance was being obliging to his hosts in a media conference, yet people still refer to it as something significant.

Ahhh, That explains alot, I was really wondering about the context.

And they're holding them tight!

shame on the GE management!

more than 1 week and still not ONE SINGLE picture from the training camp

jersey unveiled at the TDU (so they race 15 days with another one  )

worst than SKY in 2010, when they did not race the australian nationals, and waited the TDU
at least we had some pictures, like Flecha, Barry and others, still with their Rabo and HTC jersey, riding their new Dogmas in Girona

look at Radio-Leopard, they posted the pictures on the first day!

Ive already said this on twitter but im calling BS on the "NEW" greenedge women team.

It isnt a new team, Greenedge AIS, is just Jayco AIS rebadged. THeyve brought across two of the four remaining riders, the technical director is the same person.

Its great that they have taken the domestic team up to international level and used the publicity surrounding greenedge to boost the profile of the women.. But please dont try and make out that you are creating a new team when you arent.
