It seems that shortly after the disappointment of Chris White's shambolic Team Pegasus effort Australian cycling fans might have something to look forward to.
One of Australia's richest men, Gerry Harvey, will on Monday officially launch his team GreenEDGE cycling, with the goal of racing the Tour De France in 2012.
Shane Bannan Cycling Australia's High Performance Director has been recruited to be the general manager of the new team after being given a committment that the team is guaranteed for 4 years.
As an Aussie I don't want to get my hopes up too much this early but with clear financial backing early on it seems this project has a much greater chance of working than Pegasus.
