I don't think you have it quite right. From the fondo we site:
The Lance Armstrong Foundation is no secret to cycling and also our national beneficiary. LIVESTRONG helps thousands of survivors in need throughout the world and has raised millions for cancer research. LIVESTRONG has also been helpful to Echelon in the planning stages of all of our Gran Fondo's as well as a primary benficiary of our Seattle Gran Fondo. Your Palo Alto LIVESTRONG team captain is Kevin Duquette who was also a Livestrong fundraiser for the Napa Gran Fondo.

This is a Livestrong fundraising team participating in the Palo Alto ride. There are many sponsors involved. Livestrong is but one. What is telling to me is that Lemond is the one leading the Palo Alto fondo. Did Armstrong lead the one in Seattle?

Probably hard to avoid any mention of Livstring at cycling events nowadays. But, if you open the second link it says "benefiting Livstrong" clearly on the top. Its the only specific charitable mention on the page.

Lemond at Echelon Palo Alto Gran Fondo

Cimacoppi49 is correct: In 2010 and for events leading up to Palo Alto and Hood River, Livestrong was a national beneficiary. On August 1, Echelon announced its move to Charity of Choice. Livestrong is no longer our national beneficiary though several people do our events and fundraise for them including one team in Palo Alto. There are 17 Charities involved in Palo Alto including Greg's Charity, the 1in6 Foundation, the Canary Foundation, Challenged Athletes, and others.

Thanks all for pointing this out. Our website was out of date.
