55 year old Ned Overend takes the win. Alexi Grewal came in about 8 mins back in 16th. Not a "pro" race, but these guys have some serious pro roots, so thought today's results were interesting. Ned was the very 1st UCI XC mtb champion for those that have forgotten. Not a good result for Alexi, but it's a savage unforgiving course if you don't feel good (6650 feet of climbing over only 50 miles).

That Pro,1 field keeps shrinkin every year! Ned beat a half dozen climbers in a field of 30.....i'm not impressed.....how former winner, Miller, was 3rd after an atrocious Gila, just doesn't figure. Great to see 100-150 riders in most other fields though. Seriously, if you CO riders can stop sandbagging and grow a d***, you can come to the Los Alamos RR for a rematch against Jeanne Longo, she'll probably be racing the Pro, 1,2.

P.S. (Back to the lab, Dexter!)

Not to take anything away from Ned. The guy is impressive and his time was good but many Pro's are at US Pro this year as they moved the date. The Field was not as deep
