Hey guys

I was wondering if anyone could help me, i'm buying a new bike after writing off my last Top Fuel (2006/7)
I'm being told by dealers that the 9.9 ssl frameset / full bike is quite hard to come by and that maybe it's due to a new 2011 model coming soon?!

If was wondering is anyone knows do Trek then to update their bikes every year and is it at a certain time of the year?
obvsiouly i would hate to spenmd 7k on a new bike only for it to be updated in a month or 2

many thanks for the help

I have the current (2009) model Top Fuel and love it. The only thing wrong with it was the original foam grips. I have been told that the 2011 models will only have graphics updates and the newer SRAM XX components.

The 2010 model was an updated version of my bike. Trek changed the Shimano XTR components out for SRAM XX. The suspension was upgraded from DT rear shock and Rock Shox World Cup forks to Fox Forks and shock. I doubt there will be a major difference between the 2010 and 2011 models. This bike needs nothing.

You can probably pick up a 2010 model for well under $4000 when the 2011's start hitting the showroom floors. The savings alone would be enough incentive in purchasing the older model.

Unless you just have to get the latest model.

get the bargain as long as it fits. If you ride it hard enough up the climbs and it will break and you will get the 'latest' under warranty. Its what I do anyway. Why buy an upgrade when you can ride upgrades and earn it that way? :)
