Henderson: Lotto for Greipel 2012 Tour

Well that is the way i read this interview with Greg Henderson about Lotto next year.

http://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/road/news/33681/Henderson: I had to leave Team Sky

from the article said:
But the ultimate goal will be that race in July that Henderson, as yet, just hasn’t been able to crack for whatever reason.

“Absolutely, 100 per cent (the team) will be Andre,” he said.

“There’s no question there will be days where he is not on or he is not there or something happens and then I’ll get my chance. But I think I’ll get as much satisfaction in seeing Greipel’s win from a good team lead-out and knowing that I’m part of that, I think that will be a really fulfilling year for me.

“I bring a lot of knowledge from the lead-out to the team, we’ve got the engines there, we’ve got the speed and there’s no reason why we can’t perform a really good lead-out.

What do you think Van den Broeck has to say about this? Or are they just gonna try and juggle both like SKY next year and as they had previously done with Evans?

Am i making too much out of this interview?

2 headed beast at Lotto which is smart for a few reasons

VBD2 is a top rider but may finish 10 - 15 and not get a stage win

Greipel should get top 3 and a win in many stages

all good for the new team and WT points plus maybe even help VDB2 with a little less stress to perform as he has not really taken the next step

I just took it as Greipel is the No1 sprinter and Henderson will be working in his lead-out. I don't think that you can take anything about what JVdB will or won't doing from it.

I'd like to think he'll do the Giro, but that really is wishful thinking....

Yup, I don't think it has anything to do with Van Den Broeck at all. There isn't much of a conflict of interests between him and Greipel, only that they both need domestiques.
