I can see how to turn off my avatar, but not how to upload it in the first place! Any hints please?

All you have to do is click on USER CP (control panel) and then 'edit avatar' from within the list of drop downs. Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller). Thanks Daniel
