I think Hindley. Hard to know what kind of form Yates will show up in. Wouldn't mind Yates in a similar TDF 2023 form, could actually be nice fight for the podium then
Hindley's previous races have been very bad.
I thought Yates' races too, but Nordhagen in Romandie has been almost on par with Lenny.

Hindley also showed very little form in the leadup to the 2020 Giro, 2025 Vuelta and to a lesser extent the 2022 Giro. Heck, finishing with the chase group in Liège is probably more impressive than anything he had done in the months leading up to the former two. Odds are he'll find peak form here.

If it wasn't for one forum user who will remain unnamed, nobody here would be picking gee for the podium at all.

And yet here I am doing just that. Faith in geesus.

In the last few days I have grown more confident in Egan for whatever reason. Changing my prediction again

1. Hindley
2. Bernal
3. Gee
Where's Mas in this prediction?
Did you lose faith?

Gee is one minute down. If I'm not mistaken last year he lost even more time in the first week and still ended fourth. Wouldn't rule him out.
I rule him out not for the 1 minute already down, but for his anonymous spring campaign.

In my opinion Gee losing a minute so far is sort of a silver lining because many of his rivals had to abandon the race after the crash. Gee can still get some quality out of Giro regardless of his ultimate result. Curious to see if riders who are using traditional strategies leading up to the TDF get better results than Remco who has decided on isolation instead of race days.

Does this years parcours really appeal to Gee-West? I think he's like Arensman more of a diesel climber (and he obviously could have trained for better explosiveness), and this Giro doesn't really cater for that rider type. Not many multiple-hard-climb days.
I'm finding it hard to back Bernal for a 3week race anymore sadly, but maybe the layout of this Giro actually help him have a fighting chance after all.

But it's also not a super punchy Giro either. That's the point, it's just quite a bland Giro in general. And with a 42km ITT these guys can make up quite a lot of time versus the Galls, Hindleys, Van Eetvelts, Storers of this world.
