Looking at the profiles of San Sebastian and Lombardia, it's clear that they have a lot of similarities, especially with a 4k @10% climb in the concluding stages as well as a similar distance.

Yet, many seem to discard Remco's chances for this race. Is that because Pogacar is in the race or some other factor?

I'd have thought a man who is dominant in San Sebastian should automatically be a favourite for Lombardia also. Maybe I'm missing something.

Remco has been in top form since San Sebastian in late July, then WC TT, then Vuelta. He may run out of peak form. Plus obviously facing a fresh Pogacar, who's a two-times defending champion, also matters. Still he's one of favourites OFC.

Or Pogi outsprints Remco? In any case, definitive conclusions will be drawn that once and for all state who is better or worse! In an attempt to limit the damage a long list of excuses will follow that eventually succeed at ending the stream of reactions because this is the Mickey Mouse classic after all! Luckily none of this will happen as Roglic casually wins the sprint after wheelsucking Remco all day.

Yeah, I guess that's why only 3 riders won both races in entire their history.
And Lombardia this year doesn't have 4k@10% climb in concluding stages...

Ok, I don‘t know where this leap of faith in favour of Evenepoel came from, but I just believe that if Evenepoel starts the sprint at the front he could hold off Pogačar if he‘s on a bad enough day to come to the finish with the Evenepoel we saw at the Vuelta.

Only if he does a "Poels" to him, catch him by surprise, and starts his sprint some 400-500 m from the line.
You saw how he fared against Roglic, going from the front, this could be only worse I think...
