they call it "off-season" my friend. Happens every year. (Last year was a bit better due to interesting news involving clinic matters)

yeah, that's all it is

Don't remember it being this dead in previous years. And plenty of the experienced posters have not been on here for a while.
I had a look at the statistics a couple of days ago, and the user activity is at the level of the 2012 off-season, while the posting rate is lower (for the reason hinted above), but it's at 2011 level.

As for the "experienced posters", I don't know. As far as I know only one experienced poster really left the forum this year, but it happened in the spring. Another one of them is voluntarily trackstanding before the 20,000th post, so his post rate has fallen :D

I don't remember how it was in years past during the off season but I agree this year seems particularly dull.

For a while I was glad the God thread got bumped, but it has become unreadable for a heathen like myself

I stopped posting for the most part because the site is not worthwhile anymore. Long before that I stopped posting interesting stuff I found on other sites.

If it was not for the comedy stylings of thehog plus posts by a few other members--the number of which is steadily dwindling--then this place would be completely inane.

A certain mod telling me he was looking for any pretext to ban me did not help.

I think some posters make a much better job of chasing off other members, new and old alike, than do the moderators. Most people like to share and discuss ideas, not argue and attack each other ad nauseam over issues that have no bearing on their life. Even witnessing it can make a normal person uncomfortable.

You need to stop overlooking the CX and Track fora, they are heaving.
I read the CX and am a regular poster (It's all relative...) on the Track forum. If you think the latter is heaving I would hate to see it on a quiet day.

I gave up within 48 hours of a new mods arrival.
Another reason being outlined in sittingbison's post above.
Basically, the forum has been dismantled by a small group
having fun for too long, at the expense of any proper debate.

Even the road racing forum has become juvenile, with little constructive analysis. Better information now found elsewhere. Didn't use to be the case.
I still read here, but whereas it used to be my first port of call, it's now my last.

Sad.

You mean when people started calling out Sky as dopers and you got upset and went to Velorooms.

Where mostly people say nice things about Sky.

That's ok. But don't pretend that the Clinic is any different in calling out Armstrong or other dopers and Sky.

Or has everyone (except for about the 5 people) either been banned or gone to another site?

Of course, why not?
It's always quiet in the off season on the race threads ;)
