I gave up within 48 hours of a new mods arrival.
Another reason being outlined in sittingbison's post above.
Basically, the forum has been dismantled by a small group
having fun for too long, at the expense of any proper debate.

Even the road racing forum has become juvenile, with little constructive analysis. Better information now found elsewhere. Didn't use to be the case.
I still read here, but whereas it used to be my first port of call, it's now my last.

Sad.

you and Bro nailed it MellowV

Maybe we just need some off season polls to get people posting more. I'll go make one I've been thinking about making now.

Just need some new blood, that's all. Generally, the cycling forumite career is a short one. Folks get into the sport and get excited, read lots about it, and eventually sign up on a forum or 2. The more revelations that are made, the more disgust accumulates, and the more people question why they are even a fan of such a phony circus. There are some hardcore individuals that are able to suspend their disbelief, some don't care, some hope for change, some delusional, etc...(Hey, how's that for a poll, which one are you?)

Let's get out there and do some recruiting! I'll hit up the local sports articles' comments sections with a link to CN.

"New blood" only means some more bait for thehog :(

You mean when people started calling out Sky as dopers and you got upset and went to Velorooms.

Where mostly people say nice things about Sky.

That's ok. But don't pretend that the Clinic is any different in calling out Armstrong or other dopers and Sky.

I don't say any nice things about Sky. Neither does Benotti. Nor L'arriviste ;) that's 3 regular members for ya ;)

btw When did your ban for trolling end?

It will never end. As long as there are guys like you trying to pretend the forum is dead so no one will say nasty things about Sky.

My work will never be complete.

Keep up the good work Pedro

snipped..

Spot on methinks. Plus the Armstrong debacle probably accelerated/compressed the cycle this time around. Attach yourself to a "hero" at your own peril.

Velorooms is a nice set up. I like it. A wee but too Pro Sky but all they're all open and willing to discuss doping and the like.

I'm a fan of it.

Yes, a good forum, too bad they forgot to be nice to brodeal.

It is also pretty boring over there nowadays. Could it be the off season too there? It is not like Echoes hasnt written any good stuff lately.

Dim props it up by posting a lot to keep conversation going. But even then it falls away.

But I like what it represents.

BroDeal is my favourite poster. Tremendous amount of respect for this knowledge and caustic wit.

Wish he'd drop by more often and post.

Your trolling will never end? Well, at least you admit it which is the first step.

thehog said:

Who is pretending? It is dead at the moment. Quite a few people with high post counts have stopped posting this last year. The only people I have a gripe with are people that pass opinion as fact or just plain make up stuff. You are like the Fox News of the forum. And about as reliable.

thehog said:

Yes, your work... When people look back they will speak of Kimmage, Bassons and thehog. Although the former did not really make up stuff did they? Oh, and they did not need to pretend they had inside knowledge because they *actually* did.

St Hoggy of Town and Gown, we salute you.

And it seems rather ironic that the only people that introduced Sky into this topic was the usual suspects. In fact, look at the Hour thread in the Clinic. People having a reasonable debate and you guys cannot resist going off topic. Sadly, the mods either don't care or are just useless. The latter seems to be a common reason why people post elsewhere now.

Anyway Dr Mas will be back soon and you always crack when you get in an argument with him. That he actually has real contacts must goad you, no?

this thread is rather busy for a 'dead' site

not seen race radio for some time...............a miss

can't blame them they deserved better than the stalking by 'our favourite poster' etc

I agree its too bad. He should have just admitted that he made up the thing about Horners weight to make him look better instead of leaving.

today in the clinic a member stated 'we need race radio to verify'

too late now!

I never got the 'windy mountain' thread ..........it seemed only to exist to belittle RR and maker certain members feel superior

what did he make up the sceptic?

I seem to remember he was pretty consistent with a weight of around 62kg, possibly slighty less, from both visual observqtion and reverse engineering of known data, and thought the higher weight claims ludicrous.

Hog is clearly out of line here.I remember hog trying to bully pedro before in March, when he was clearly in the wrong but kept at it anyway. It seems obvious to me that hog is on a mission to drive away anyone who has ever said anything remotely positive about sky even if like in pedro's case they are a sensible poster

Nah. I believe in a pure Clinic.

I just don't like those trying to belittle this place that its worth nothing when it is.

Pedro is a good guy. He can stand up well for himself.

And he does. If he thinks the Clinic is dead, I think not.

It just doesn't suit his support of Sky that's all.

Happy for him to post as much as he likes. Go for it.

Yes, but I dont think he explained how he came up with those calculations. So as far as I could tell he made Horner a couple kilos lighter for no apparent reason.

Anyway I could be wrong and this isnt the right thread for this topic.

You are wrong, and this is definitely not the right thread for this topic.
