I would think that kicking some ass is more than just finishing high in the GC ranking. Attacking, going for a stage victory, etc.Where did Pogacar's domestique end up on GC in 2023 and 2024?

But if Pogacar is fine, what can Del Toro do? Pogacar will go for the win...It will depend on whether Pogacar needs him and if the rest of the domestiques are in good shaoe. If Yates can do the job and Pogacar doesn't need Del Toro, I suppose they'll give freedom to Del Toro. If Pogacar is having problems, Del Toro will have to sacrifice.
Take boni seconds from Jonas...But if Pogacar is fine, what can Del Toro do? Pogacar will go for the win...
Del Toro will go for second Richie Porte styleBut if Pogacar is fine, what can Del Toro do? Pogacar will go for the win...
The launch, like Narvaez. The initial rush is the big difference between Pogacar and the rest of the climbers. But if Pogacar is fine, what can Del Toro do? Pogacar will go for the win...
i think theres a greater conflict between good gc and good helper for pogi with del toro if the other climbers in the team are nuggets and yatesWhere did Pogacar's domestique end up on GC in 2023 and 2024?
I have the feeling that with the level of competition he'll be facing this year, Pogacar will need more support from the team than what he has received in the last 2 years. It will depend on whether Pogacar needs him and if the rest of the domestiques are in good shaoe. What makes you think he will show up at the Tour with that same level of form?I have the feeling that with the level of competition he'll be facing this year, Pogacar will need more support from the team than what he has received in the last 2 years.
I'm not sure he could win the TDF this year in the same conditions he won the Romandie.
His team needs to do better than that
Apologies. When I wrote 'in the same conditions' I didn't mean his form. Surely he'll be in top formWhat makes you think he will show up at the Tour with that same level of form?
The way the team seemed to do it in the Classics was the other guys softened everyone up and then Tadej destroyed what was left. I've seen that sometimes in stage races too, Tadej will be down to his last guy and some other teams will still have a couple or 3 left with the leader when Tadej drops them all.Apologies. When I wrote 'in the same conditions' I didn't mean his form. Surely he'll be in top form
I meant the fact that he was left alone by his team fighting everyone else.
He can't win the TDF if he's left fighting alone like in the Romandie. That is what I meant with 'in the same condition' .
I think he's on the verge to win a big race.Good to see him again on a true mountain stage.
This kid had one of the biggest breakthroughs last year but somehow after winning the UAE Tour and Tirreno it felt to me like public opinion switched a bit towards really underestimating him again.
For me he is close to Seixas in terms of talent. And he will be able to challenge for the win in the biggest races in the future.
Your prediction came true today. Paul Seixas also looked excellent as they traded hard purposeful pulls. Seixas recovered well after he dumped it. Juan Ayuso raced well.I think he's on the verge to win a big race.
No we shall not, for the simple reason it's a complete strawman. Can we dispel the myth that Del Toro is a bad climber? Perhaps he's not as good a climber as he is a puncher, as a puncher he's lethal. But he's not that bad climber
He's been unfairly judged because of two bad days in his second Grand Tour. Consistency issues in a Grand Tour are normal at his age.
Is that really a myth? I never heard that. Please document your source of this myth. Can we dispel the myth that Del Toro is a bad climber? Perhaps he's not as good a climber as he is a puncher, as a puncher he's lethal. But he's not that bad climber

I've seen it said many times on this forum that Del Toro is not a good enough climber on long mountain passes to compete with the best.Is that really a myth? I never heard that. Please document your source of this myth.
It's the whole debate about the Giro last year and in the GC power rankings where some people rated him lower than as being the 'shouldabeen Giro winner' and next guaranteed GT winner. Is that really a myth? I never heard that. Please document your source of this myth.
