Well deserved. Say what you like about older riders and devo squads, but he might have had to retire if not for this chance after the abrupt demise of HPH.

Obviously being Canadian helps. There's not too many about of the necessary level. There's really only Leonard left that's not on the team. He looked decent at l'Avenir, but you can't help but feel that he's going to have wasted three important years at Ineos. Will the team try and sign him for 2026?

Probably the joint best Israeli victory.

A couple of wins puts a rosier complexion on things. :)

Good sprint after a big job from Frigo. The team also rode really well the other day when Strong took second behind Powless.

Not the best WT sprint field you'll ever see (and some that are here are kinda on their holidays already). The results from the first two stages were rather a disappointment considering the names involved, but this is more like it. Let's see how he gets on in 2025 with hopefully a bit less track riding.

One contender for this competition that I didn't mention above was Lidl-Trek Devo and of course over the ensuing weeks they've picked up a lot of points via Soderqvist and Behrens. That's more than enough to put them in first place.

Silly me. Lidl-Trek Devo are of course registered as a US team. They can have guaranteed invites to the races on the American Tour.

So yeah, IPT Academy do make it into the top-3 European teams along with St. Michel and Alpecin Devo. There should be to need to worry about getting asked to the Baby Giro etc and with the talk of l'Avenir making the switch from nations to trade teams, this could be a timely "podium".

Hopefully there'll be a fair few new faces in 2025 what with 4(?) moving up and maybe that many or more being let go. Only know of the (unconfirmed) Quintero and Pareta so far.

No Pareta after all. He's off to Equipo Finisher instead.

Dawid Lewandowksi is a possibility going by the old who's following who on instagram.

Finally I forgot Finlay Tarling who of course is the only 100% confirmed new signing.

So it turns out Clarke had a contract for next year which I certainly don't mind. He did a great dom job at ToB and Wallonie and maybe he can get that elusive Giro stage win in '25.

We were all led to believe that Van Tricht had a contract with the main team, but that has been postponed for another year and thus there is space to keep on (a bit surprisingly) Schwarzmann.

No room for Pau Marti either. I hope he hasn't signed for another team.

Quite a conservative transfer window with only the four new signings and done with more than one eye on making sure of a WT spot in the next 3-yr cycle. They've got a healthy cushion though (over 5000?) and with several teams inbetween them and 19th spot you could make the argument that it would have made more sense to look ahead to the 26-28 cycle and bed some more youngsters in ahead of that. Maybe Marti instead of Lutsenko, Van Tricht for Louvel and Tene for Schwarzmann.

Hopefully the transfer window in 12 months time will be a bit more interesting. Top climber and a cobbles classics leader required please.

Not having to shoulder Froome and Fugl's contracts should open up a ton of opportunities to sign a top climber and maybe a GC candidate (could be the same person?). I love Gee but I'm not convinced that he'll ever be more than a bottom of the Top 10 in a GT.

On a silly note: Having both Hugo Houle and Hugo Hofstetter is very confusing to me, as is having the only two pro cycling Rileys that I know of.

A lot depends on the strength of the field. Looking at the final GC from this year's Giro, do I think he could have slotted into 5th (Tiberi) or 6th (Arensman)? Hardly outside the realm of possibility.

I think his performance at this year's Tour is about the best we can expect at that race, though.

What I'd like to see from Gee in 2025 is a bit of a better all year round level. Not just one big peak and then virtually anonymity for the other ~8 months. Not sure it'll happen though.

Looking on PCS for a bit of off-season fun at who might be realistically available to bring into the team in 12 months .

Van Wilder was someone they made an offer for previously when he left DSM. Obviously it might depend on what happens with Evenepoel, but if he fancies a few more chances for himself...

Vauquelin will surely be on the market with Arkea looking almost doomed to relegation already.

Busatto? Intermarche are a bit short of funds and they have plenty of riders already with a Busatto type profile.

Vacek is probably far too good for the team, but it's getting more and more crowded at Lidl with top talent.

Rescue Gloag/Tullett from Visma?

These days of course contracts aren't always set in stone and more and more riders are moving with a transfer fee. So anyone could be available with the right money. Hindley (like Van Wilder) is someone the team seriously tried to sign in the past. If Remco ends up at RedBull might the Australian like to move a year early?

Not such a big turnover of riders as I thought there would (should?) be. Elverson talks about a similar calendar to this year with the addition of a handful of stage races (just what I asked for!).

So some thoughts.

There are five non-U23 riders for this upcoming season! Yeah there's no harm having two or three to help back up the main team, but Gilmore/Watts seem rather similar (I would have opted just for the Aussie) and Kretschy didn't do much this year to warrant another chance imo.

No sign of Quintero. It wasn't definite that he was going to sign, but he did quite well in the short Euro race program the team helped him ride. Maybe it will happen the following year instead or maybe he just decided he'd prefer to stay in Colombia. Who knows.

Marti is still with the team. Phew! His season did kinda tail off towards the end, but the performances at the Baby Giro (vs Widar and Torres) and Spanish Nats did point towards a good career ahead.

Lima had a rather illness/injury affected season. I'd be looking towards him (along with Marti obv) to get the results in the U23 calendar, and it would be nice if those who had rather barren E1 years (Kurits and Garcia) started to show some acclimatizing to the espoir category.

The new signings aren't overly exciting (certainly not in the way Blackmore was). Casey has had the best results, but coming from Auto-Eder he's also had the best gear/training/coaching etc. Verbrugghe is coming off two poor seasons at Groupama Devo. Edinger had a good year by Israeli standards picking up a few victories. Personally I'll be hoping Coleman does well as he's from the same part of the world as me (there's quite a few Northern Irish riders kicking about these days - the Raffertys, Dunwoody and now Coleman).
