Mellow Velo said:German national tv channels much the same as the UK.
The BBC wouldn't get out of bed to cover road cycling.
Exceptions being:
a) Cav at the Tour
b) Any doping story that doesn't involve Lance.
Any other sport and they do their best to bury any doping revelation.
The BBC's sports news consists of football/soccer, soccer/football, Andy Murray's latest win, loss, near miss, injury, excuse......oh and football/soccer.
Luckily, Germany has the ONLY free to view version of Eurosport.
Everywhere else, megabucks.
ARD still have the most extensive coverage of it's one day "holiday specials", such as Koln.

luckyboy said:It's way better on Eurosport thatn it ever would be on the BBC anyway.
Barrus said:The bolded is not necessarily true, it is also free to view in the Netherlands and I believe at least in France, at least you don't have to pay more than regular norma television.
The Hitch said:I would like for more people to care about cycling. Having a 30 minute highlights package every day on one of the 5 main channels would do wonders for that.
Mellow Velo said:Trouble is, alothough a lot if Dutch tv is "free" you can't get access in most of the rest of Europe.
Don't you need a viewing card or wotnot? Only available with a Netherland's address.
German Eurosport 1, is free to anyone with a dish and the cycling is usually on there.
Susan Westemeyer said:Yes, we will still be able to watch it on Eurosport, which is what I do anyway.
