Very worrying in my opinion for the Aussies they need every minute bit of assistance if they want to overturn the world championships deficit and compared to the British who seem to be very regimented this seems a bit amateur and not at all up to the standards you would expect from any olympic athletes.

Also shouldnt this go in the track section of the forum?

Worst thing about this is they are not punished when D'Arcy and that other swimmer are punished for for taking pictures holding guns... something not illegal. No consistency at all.

He was in the car with Hepburn, famous from this incident:

Oh this is no big deal couple of mates out on the town, great team building night.

If you knew what the others were up to you'd have a heart attack.

Great role models

I am sure that Robbie,Stuey,Matty,Gossy and Skippy wouldn't worry about a mates night out.

I'm pretty certain D'Arcy & Monk were also punished as they have behaved poorly in the past. This is pretty poor from Bobridge, but as far as I recall his first incident?

everyone knows bobridge likes a drink or two... or three or ten

doesnt seem to have effected his track career at all, might be a contributing factor to his strength?!

not very consistent punishment given the d'arcy gun media frenzy...

Why on earth are athletes chided for being "poor role models"? If your kid thinks that they need to emulate the behaviour of an athlete, then that's your problem. You should either restrict their access to information about the athlete's "bad behaviour" or try and explain that they shouldn't just imitate others with their behaviour.

Fine.
I can agree with your point, but to act like this in public is pretty idiotic and they should not be rewarded with an Olympic spot.

For me, the whole reason to be critical of this group did not really have much to do with being role models. It had more to do with being the best they can be at the sport. It's about being disciplined so they can put themselves in the best possible position to do their best, for them and their teammates. It could even be argued they could have let their teammates down it this occurred at the wrong time, which I'm not sure is the case here.

to keep 'punishment' consistent i would agree

of course that is not going to happen when the TP squad will get silver at worst...

Bobridge has loads of talent even compared with his contemporaries. So far his road career doesn't seem to be developing as well as Cam Meyer or Luke Durbridge.Hopefully this has nothing to do with how he spends his time off the bike.

Interesting news going into the Games. The fact that those boys are doing that stuff not far out from the games is quite undisciplined. The question needs to be asked, do they really want to win Gold in London?

Its the "crack team pursuit team" . :) What can one expect

As usual those that inhabit these forums make judgements
on people they don't know, without ANY of the facts.
Have any of you been involved in an accident in a foreign
country, like say Spain or Portugal, (where you don't speak
the language) that was NOT your fault? If you have, then
you're probably not as likely to pass quick judgement on
these lads. I don't condone drinking and driving at any
time, for any reason, for anyone, but until we know all
the details I am going to reserve judgement.

What does not being able to speak the language have to do with failing a breathalyzer test?
