Jan “Syuk” Tratnik

Jan “Syuk” Tratnik is the cult hero we need

Jan Tratnik has been out and back. He turned pro with Quick-Step back in 2011, but suffered greatly when going from his natural compact build of 67 kg for his 173 cm down to 57 kg that year. Despite having signed a two-year contract with the team, he was dropped from the roster after its fusion with Omega-Pharma. He went back to the Conti-scene while he at first suffered from injuries and his body image. Slowly but surely he rode his way back to professional cycling, and in 2017 he could return to professional cycling with CCC. With a string of solid results, he could finally return to the very highest level of cycling with Bahrain in 2019, at the age of 28. Same year he already got his first WT victory in the Neuchâtel prologue of that year's Tour de Romandie ahead of his compatriot Primož Roglič. He thrived on Bahrain and proved successful in a variety terrains: won a medium mountain Giro stage, was 2nd on Monte Zoncolan, several ITT top-10's at the highest level, also top-10 in both Sanremo and Dwars door Vlaanderen before solid results in Ronde van Vlaanderen, Amstel and the Wollongong WCRR too. Last year he changed team to Jumbo-Visma, and while proving himself a solid helper throughout the year, he has this year been able to ride for his own results and it shows!

You've Come a Long Way, Baby

I need a ten-page report about the "Syuk".

Not quite ten pages, but I'll accept it.
