Jens Voigt on Conan O'Brien?

Who is Conan o'Brien and what use is he to Jens Voigt?

Wow, I guess some things American don't cross the pond. Conan is a very popular late night talk show host. Probably the most popular in the country to people about age 45 and under.

I can't see Jens as a guest on there. But I could see an amusing little segment about bicycling with him integrated into it. That would be cool.

Conan would need several days of Jens facts before he'd get it and be able to do a decent interview, other than the just asking questions to know who he is scenario.

Is Conan the guy that replaced Leno but was rubbish, and got a massive pay day when Leno decided to return six months later?

what did i miss? why would jens voigt show up on conan? does he or any other american know who jens is?

There's a ton of Americans like myself who even worship the ground the Germanator crashes on, mostly because he seemed like the only real thing in cycling during the Lance years. Check out the website of Jens Voigt's Army, a cycle club in Portland, Oregon-- and I think Jens was even made an honorary member of America's most exclusive cycling fraternity, none other than Team Evil, the scourge of the Midwest.

Lots of Americans like Jens, but nowhere near enough to justify Conan having him on his show.

Uh, you have it completely twisted. NBC moved Jay Leno from late night to prime time, and put Conan in his old late night time slot.

Conan was doing fine, his ratings were about what everyone expected. But Leno's ratings were so horrible, the entire NBC network and nearly all affiliates fought to get him off the air so normal programs could be put back in prime time. It was a total disaster for NBC.

NBC then basically bought Conan out and fired him, and put Leno back in his old time slot. Conan actually handled it with aplomb, and now he is on TNT (cable TV) and tours the country, as popular as ever.

Thanks for the explanation. These stories get warped as they cross the pond. The only US chat show host that has impressed me is Craig Ferguson but we share a sense of humour.

EDIT: In fact if Jens Voigt was ever to appear on a chat show Ferguson's Paris shows that he's recording at the moment were probably the best opportunities.

So Jens Voigt is big in America? Maybe one day he will get a role in Sex and the City?

Voigt on Conan O'Brien? Why not? Voigt has a good sense of humour and O'Brien is a funny guy, he used to be on The Simpsons writing team!

Is humour not enough! It is for me.
