It's not the first time UAE murders the portuguese jersey. They've done it before with Costa. Even Movistar respects the portuguese jersey rules, this is just sad.

You noticed that well. He should only grow to his best form towards the end of Burgos, or even after during a final week of training. In any case a better approach than Evenepoel who is in shape (much) too early.

I noticed that when I was watching the stage yesterday. In the lasts KM at one point we can see in the tv coverage that he was trying to push up his seat

Indeed you were right at with your comment, Almeida seemed a bit off in those first stages but he's bulding form slowly so he can be at his peak in La Vuelta when it matters the most

Yeah to think he'll doing two GC GT this year is a bit insane considering he absolutely didn't want to do it previously. But I guess having to quit due to covid got him extra motivated.

I'm hyped on the Remco - Almeida showdown. They should have about equally "good" support from their teams
