Being tired does not prevent him of doing a interview or being in the rollers. The rollers help to recover.

I think Vingegaard came here to try and win the race. He did really well in the first half of the race, limiting the gap that many people (including, seemingly, Visma) had been expecting would be substantial. Then he tried to make the same move he's made the other years to take the yellow jersey: crushing tempo on a long climb deep into the race. But it backfired because Pogacar's level was even crazier. He seemed surprised - and gutted - that it didn't yield the result he had hoped for (and maybe expected).Even if he is really tired now- it should not come as a surprise to anyone. Some commentators seem to have forgotten almost, what happened in April and thereafter (ICU, only 6 weeks proper training, etc. - we all know it). What he showed so far is much more than anyone could have expected. I think he is happy what he showed so far, including the stage win. If he can pull something off tomorrow or Saturday, it would just be a bonus on top.
Visma was surpassed by UAE, not just on the new "fuel" (it's not that BS of new coach and new nutrition). but also in the equipment. Let's the take the example of TT setup of Visma, who is trash compared with the equipment of Visma.I think Vingegaard came here to try and win the race. Personally, I can't believe he's able to be in 2nd at this point in the race with what he's been through - far beyond everyone except Pogacar and Evenepoel. But I don't think he's happy with that. He wanted to win.
7.2 Watts / Kg tomorrow for 36 minutes.Visma was surpassed by UAE, not just on the new "fuel" (it's not that BS of new coach and new nutrition). but also in the equipment. Let's the take the example of TT setup of Visma, who is trash compared with the equipment of Visma.
Visma team for the Tour also suffered a lot of setbacks. Kruijswijk, Van baarle, Kuss out, Van aert far from his best shape.
Those factors combined with the crash in April explain everything that has been happening.
The good news is that these issues can be resolved.
Tomorrow is all about give everything with no regrets, going full gas on La bonette and see where it takes.
I think La bonette is 1 hour.7.2 Watts / Kg tomorrow for 36 minutes.
Not tomorrow!I think La bonette is 1 hour.
We know what kind of “risks” he’s talking about was that interview after today’s stage or yesterday?View: https://youtube.com/shorts/ppWS0IQB8dI?si=OU2fgtNFej3428Kp
Tomorrow and the TT are going to be insane from Visma and Vingegaard. Will Pogacar continue to one up their crazy.
Stage 17 but don’t know if before or after the stage. We know what kind of “risks” he’s talking about was that interview after today’s stage or yesterday?
He sounds rather reserved. Like hoping for the best but if not he will still be happy considering what he has been through. Best sign is he sounds relaxed. So whatever Vingo does on this epic stage it will be the best he (and Visma) has. Is that enough, we will see. But I tend to disagree about the TT. I think Vingo might be struggling by then. Remco is stalking.View: https://youtube.com/shorts/ppWS0IQB8dI?si=OU2fgtNFej3428Kp

Yeah, I think a lot depends on today (stage 19). If he manages to pull off a miracle, that'll be a huge mental boost. But if he struggles again today, it could break him mentally before the final two stages. Visma have said that"if he finishes 3rd or 4th in the GC as a result of having reached for yellow, that's the way it is". So they seem to be playing with the idea of some all out attack that may turn out costly. Last year, the TT was decisive, but this year I think today's stage is the one that'll settle things. Pog has a chance to effectively end the battle for yellow; Vinge has what'll probably be a last chance to turn things around; Evenepoel could - with a good result today - eventually move to 2nd in the GC if Vinge cracks. He sounds rather reserved. Sure. But from Evenepoel's perspective, it'd be a big thing if he were to take 2nd place in the GC.for a two time TDF winner there is very little difference between 2nd or 3rd overall, so i dont think evenpoel is even a factor here, well see pretty early whats the plan but if they keep everything slow untill last climb thats half the battle lost already, they need to take advantage of hot weather and endurance climbing which should both favour them, if none of that happens they are throwing in the towel
I was off by a couple minutes, but not by much.7.2 Watts / Kg tomorrow for 36 minutes.
Next year those will be the numbers necessary to win the Tour.I was off by a couple minutes, but not by much.
I mean, that comes from rushing him back from an injury. The base isn't there, so he couldn't improve or even hold that monster shape.Vingegaard is finishing this Tour the way people expected him to start it form wise. Recency bias is a thing though, i.e. let's not forget his wild ride last week with his Le Lorian win.
Instead of a curve from underpowered to overpowered, he's done the reverse. Now he'll get the public sympathy vote (tears & all) which all the runners up enjoy in the Tour.
Pretty crazy that he got to that level on Beille.I mean, that comes from rushing him back from an injury. The base isn't there, so he couldn't improve or even hold that monster shape.
I mean, they also supercharged Son Jorge for Beille, they tried to go all in.Pretty crazy that he got to that level on Beille.
If the second half of this Tour is the new normal for cycling, Vingegaard will improve for year. How much depends on what the new limits are.
I don't think Jonas is the form of his life. He's missing 100 hours of base training.Pog and the improving Remco aside - JV has put 10 minutes into the field
He is in the form of his life - it's just that Pogacar is too - and he hasn't been helped that his team is weaker than in 2022 and 2023 - and TP's team much stronger
he's riding the race of his life - all the figures support this - but he's come up against the greatest Tour performance ever.I don't think Jonas is the form of his life. He's missing 100 hours of base training.
He's lacking endurance.he's riding the race of his life - all the figures support this - but he's come up against the greatest Tour performance ever.
"Lacking endurance", hmmm ... He's 2nd in the GC! Did his best numbers ever on stage 15 and - so far- hasn't really cracked at any point. 10+ minutes ahead of everyone in the GC except Pogacar and Evenepoel. He's lacking endurance.
