Vingegaard couldnt be operated completely because he still has internal bleedings apparently. It doesn't sound good. Also his parents get no updates from the hospital or the team. Really ominous all together
Weird story cause they should never be able to pass medical information by his wife amd leave her in the dark. She should normally be the emergency contact

I heard that story yesterday, and it doesn't make any sense. Vingegaard's wife is at the hospital, so he knows what's going on.

Probably a fake story just like the story about Vingegaard warn in January the organization of Tour Basque Country about the descent where all happened.

I don't know much regarding the reliability of Ekstra Bladet, whether it's a serious medium or a gossip kind of outlet, but a direct quote from Claus Vingegaard doesn't seem to be hitting the same level of uncertainty as some guy with financial stakes.

Wielerflits running with the same story: https://www.wielerflits.nl/nieuws/o...ans-gehad-om-met-hem-te-praten/#post-comments

Claus Vingegaard, Jonas' father, comes a week after the heavy fall with an interview in the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet. "It's hell for us," he says. "A week after his fall, my wife and I still haven't heard from Jonas. We just didn't get the chance yet. Not with Jonas, but also not with his wife and Visma | Lease a Bike. I don't know how that's possible, but it's that it's supposed to be that way, right?"

Vingegaard senior therefore has no update on his son's physical condition. "We really only know what we read in the media. It's not that we don't want to visit him in Spain, but at the moment I don't think we should. We are currently only receiving minor updates."

I'll just follow the standard 'wait & see'.

There's valid questions about the source (perhaps a 'sensationalist' paper & actual quotes could be misconstrued or whatever) but I think the current consensus I see around the net right now, i.e. that Vingegaard & his father are at odds or don't speak or something, is a bit... weird. It's like also totally made up in & of itself.

Ekstra Bladet is indeed usually looking for sensations, but if they have the quote directly from his father then it might be true. However it wouldn't be the first time he'd felt misunderstood or spoken out of his ass. Let's wait and see what happens.

Anyway as a cynical Dane, I personally hope he doesn't recover in time for the Tour, and that someone else will be able to challenge Pogačar.

There's bound to be speculation IMO. Out of everyone who crashed 7 days ago, we've had pictures & comments from all of them... except Vingegaard.

Not sure Ala and Bernal are effected by their crashers anymore. There is something wrong at quickstep and with Bernal the level of the field is just not what it was when he was up there.
Of course Froome, Ala, Bernal are/were affected by terrible crashes. Froome and Ala therefore also lost their professional attitude and will never come back. Not even at sub-topper level.
I think Bernal will reach his old level again (or already has reached that level). But the level has risen so much in recent years that Bernal can no longer compete with the very best, even at his 2019 level. But he's still young. Bernal will probably equal the level of Roglic, Evenepoel, Ayuso, Yates this year and next year, but slightly after Pogacar and Vingegaard...

I don't know what's going one but it wouldn't hurt no one if Vingegaard logged into his social media account and just posted something, anything, a simple "I'm fine! It could have been very worse. Thanks for the concern, I'll come back stronger!".

But then again, don't remember any world superstar as so social media inept as him. His last social media post is about Van Hooydonck in last september, all that appeared after were made by other brands.

Probably he already forgotten the password of his social media account.

He doesn't have insta on his own phone. It's on his wife's phone though.
