Maybe if Vingegaard hadn't had that crash in April, we'd have seen a repeat of '22 and '23. Vingegaard isn't that far off considering the preparation he's had

The assumption that Vingo would be stronger with normal preparation is logical. However his PdB performance, considering the circumstances, was miraculous not not necessarily logical!

Imho what he is doing is simply disgusting. Go congratulate Pog, share a few thought after the stage and then, by all means, go cry in your wife's lap (nothing wrong with that). But at the line... Come on...

Pretty sure it's usually at the line the disappointment is felt the strongest...
Once he's had time to reflect over what he's managed, I'm sure he'll congratulate Pogacar.

I am sure he will. But have your significant other wait for you either around the cool down zone or even beyond that. Not at the line.

So, if a rider wins, should their SOs also wait elsewhere, so people like you wouldn't have to suffer the horrible sight of seeing riders in loving relationships?
Even if his wife hadn't been right at the finish, he'd still have needed a few moments to deal with the disappointment...

I am sure you understand the difference between soigneurs and partners...
Secondly, team mantes consoling one after a sporting defeat is normal, human, sportsmanlike. Being in need of your wife at the line is just so ugh...

When I post on here just after the finish of a race, I will also start crying. I guess the forum is my personal Trine.

Visma did the right thing today. They effed up the last two days where they could have won, but today they tried their best, but it wasn't enough. Vingegaard held onto second, and Remco was not even close to dropping him. It could be a different story tomorrow, but we'll see.

He had time dealing with disappointment half the climb and actually days before already. Come on.

And besides, what diaappointment? Visma claimed he had a huge accident and barely started TdF. Now, he's second.

I'm not a fan of Vingegaard, but I think that's a very harsh assessment. People are different. Vinge is very close with his wife, who seems quite involved in his racing as well. And I can't see what's wrong with that.

I don't agree with this nonsense. what's the problem if he went to his wife? Pogacar would have been definitely seen later and congratulate him later.I would then add that many will not agree, in my opinion they do not love each other and have never loved each other, either because of their opposite characters or because of the strong rivalry and the blows that have been dealt to each other over the years. handshakes? only appearance, respect between colleagues and basic good manners. other than that, we should consider ourselves lucky to see these guys in action. the rest is their business
