You voluntarily watched that this spring, there was just this dude 5 minutes ahead every time, which I guess was that much more exciting.

The sad fact is that there is only one rider who can challenge Pog and we only get to see them square off once per year. This is Ving's fault mostly (if you want to point fingers) because he has a lighter calendar. Well maybe that barrel shaped triathlete will save us from boredom in 2029 or whatever.
I could see race organizers leaking something that never happened to create pressure onto Vingo. He's a one trick pony July racer, but cash and prospect of a giro title might at least interest him. I doubt it, though. His best chance at anything and everything possible is in July.
Maybe Vingegaard wants to race the 2025 Giro d'Italia and leaked the information himself indirectly!
Side-note: I always knew storks were real but because they are rare in the U.S. and I’ve never seen one, they still always seemed more like fairy tale creatures than something on a bird list. Then I drove through rural Lithuania this summer and saw 4-5 dozen. What a surprise that was! But none were carrying human babies
