Dont forget, you can get a Medical Certificate from your local Chemist for one day off too. If youre too crook to get out of bed tomorrow, just print this off and fill it out.

She could use some good use some good press atm. A public holiday would certainly be good.

There was about 8 minutes dedicated Cadel in the news bulletin tonight. He was the first story. The premier will wants people to wear yellow to work tommorow.

cant believe there was a day off for the australia cup. this is the biggest annual sporting event in the world.

its crazy just thinking about what this means for australian cycling. sponsorship for green EDGE will be awesome. and i daresay that cycling numbers will rise quite a bit.


oh and not to mention you victorians get a day off for the melbourne cup!

But then its strong stuff and we dont want him falling off untill after he crosses the line. Stick with water untill after the race.

She would be desperate for cheap votes, but the logistics of announcing a public holiday on such short notice. It just couldn't happen.

BOB HAWKE , prime minister of the day said " ANYBODY WHO SACKS A WORKER FOR NOT WORKING TODAY IS A BUM !" !

Gilliard could do the same , but as i said in my blog , Kevin Rudd would have made sure that the nation marked the day !

Premier Mike Rann wants Cadel at the next TDU so i reckon he will repeat "Hawke's " words !

Cadel would do well to work the Crits this next week whilst the nation sets up the " Homecoming " ! Perhaps the "pollies" will consult him for his timetable as he will also be required to show up in Mendrisio where he is a resident , and i am sure the family and neighbours will want a piece of the action !

I just can imagine what will happen when a French wins the tour, they will close France for a week, and another one to recover from the hangover.

In any case I'm not Australian but seing Cadel in the Chams Elysees with the flag, and hearing the country national anthem was brilliant, what a magic moment
