Have followed the results and the discussions but was lagging behind on the TiVo recording.
While I am soooo glad that Lance is gone, I am already fed up with the Jens Voigt love fest. Yes, we get it. He's a tough, working professional who gives his all.
The first stage of Paris-Nice is over and I am over Sherwin/Liggett/Roll for another season. I've had enough. It's brutal.
Voight is second wheel behind de Gendt for a considerable time and the buffoons in the booth talk about his effort. Apparently, he is the only one in the break. If there are others, they only Leipheimer the great Jens Voigt.
In the Criterium, he has a 1:30 lead heading up the final climb. Didn't look up where he finished, but suffice it to say he was no where near the leaderboard. Yes, he toughened the race with a "daring" solo effort, but it's not as if he were a marked man, despite his CI palmares.
I like the guy. I think he is great for the image of the sport (despite his whining about race radios). I like the way he races. I can do without the announcer's thoughts that he is the *only* tough guy in the peloton.
