Have followed the results and the discussions but was lagging behind on the TiVo recording.

While I am soooo glad that Lance is gone, I am already fed up with the Jens Voigt love fest. Yes, we get it. He's a tough, working professional who gives his all.

The first stage of Paris-Nice is over and I am over Sherwin/Liggett/Roll for another season. I've had enough. It's brutal.

Voight is second wheel behind de Gendt for a considerable time and the buffoons in the booth talk about his effort. Apparently, he is the only one in the break. If there are others, they only Leipheimer the great Jens Voigt.

In the Criterium, he has a 1:30 lead heading up the final climb. Didn't look up where he finished, but suffice it to say he was no where near the leaderboard. Yes, he toughened the race with a "daring" solo effort, but it's not as if he were a marked man, despite his CI palmares.

I like the guy. I think he is great for the image of the sport (despite his whining about race radios). I like the way he races. I can do without the announcer's thoughts that he is the *only* tough guy in the peloton.

thanks to you I watched that bit again. the only cool thing I got out of it was when Jens said he asked if BR if he could be a one man team at Crit Int last season.....

I so tired of the VS's groups cliches. Especially Sherwin's. How many times must I hear:

* Someone trying to asphyxiate the peloton.
* The phrase "a certain Mr"
* A totally made up conversation two cyclists are "having" on the road. Damn, they must have a lot of extra capacity on those 12% climbs. A certain Mr. Armstrong turns to Mr. Contador and says, come on Alberto, climb with me if you can, in the meantime, I'll to asphyxiate you...

Roll's a buffoon. I thought some of his books were entertaining, but as a commentator he has to go off on these love fests (thank god Armstrong is gone now) over certain riders. Why not just call the race Bob?

Liggett's the least offensive of the bunch I think. He seems to stumble a bit now and then, but to me he is trying to call the race and seems genuinely excited over the efforts of ANY rider (as opposed to Roll and Sherwin drooling over their rider of the day).
