Kinesiology tape cheating?

Is it the case that kinesiology tape is not permitted to augment body shape under a skin suit for a time trial?

I've heard this rule stands but is abused to achieve a more tucked effect for the shoulders, and there are no rules for inspection.

Is this the case?

Would using such tape possibly compromise safety as it may restrict the movement a rider could achieve with his arms in the event of a crash?

Good question. Especially when the new rule against compression socks is considered.

This is what Phat is talking about when he claims to have fought doping since assuming the leadership of the UCI.

No sock doping.

No shoe cover doping.

No seat angle doping.

These are verbotten!

Dave.

As far as I know the UCI rule against compression clothing was to prevent riders from altering their aerodynamic profile.
It actually pre dates compression clothing as we know it today which is used for dubious phisiological reasons rather than aerodinamic ones.

You left out Banana seats are doping as well :p (nothing to do with fruit, look it up before you go all tangential on us, who ever is thinking something else)

Athletic tape has been in sports since I can remember, I wonder if that has an exception, probably requires a prescription :D

The thing is how will anyone know if you use it as a base layer?
