Stripped the others of the winMagic Marc!
Usually the climbing is harder, last year they really upped the difficulty and only 15 riders finished so that's probably why we got a weak route this year.Hirschi wins again, his fifth straight win lol
I know that this race usually has a similar profile to this one, but for me a race in memory of Marco Pantini should have a much harder parcours than one that allows a bunch sprint finish.
I agree but it's a fun race in and of itself. With 3km to go I did think Baroncini and Brenner had itHirschi wins again, his fifth straight win lol

Should be a climb like Monte Carpegna or something, where he used to train a lot.Hirschi wins again, his fifth straight win lol

A bit, but it was definitely 16/17s with 4.5km to go after having been 25/26s with 9km to go as that was when they crossed the finish line. Peloton only really picked it up again around the 3km mark, when they had Geschke doing a very long turn it looked like all the impetus had gone and they'd bottled it.The GPS drunkenness played a part in that, though.
Yeah Hirschi is a proper non-meme rider now. Got his drive back after a difficult couple of years with his 1.1/1.Pro schedule and is now a genuine classics contender. In this form he will be there or thereabouts in the WC but he needs to get over whatever yips he has had. He proved he can do the distance in 2020 with 3rd in the road race backed up by a 2nd in Liege he would've won if not for the Alaphilippe special. Beat some actual guys in San Sebastian and Bretagne too so maybe the monkey is off his back.
Same here, since when is he able to sprint? TTs and climbing while having good recovery yeah, but sprinting?Pretty good sprint by Milesi. I didn't expect him to be in the mix.
