Lesser known races 2025 edition

I saw Jeison, the son of coffee planter Rujano is racing Venezuela in a few weeks. His father is no doubt waiting for the green light from Savio before making his own comeback.

The period January-End of February is my favourite part of the cycling season at the moment. As it's the last year in the points cycle I'm looking forward to seeing some disgraceful rider-schedules from the likes of Astana, Cofidis and Arkea. Have you ever seen a more 1.1-bound man than 2025's Alex Aranburu? I hope Alberto Bettiol has been practicing his Mandarin.

2022 Piet Allegaert will be tough to beat, but hopefully some of them give it a good shot https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/piet-allegaert/2022

Edit - add time for TV - from 15.00 CET. Startlist includes our old favourite Pierre Latour and Lidl-Trek's kiddies team. Good news is it's a race back from the dead -

From 1982 to 1989 it was held under the name of Vuelta Camp de Morvedre and of which the 1985 edition is remembered with special affection with the participation of Bernard Hinault who finished second behind Javier Castellar. Peter Hilse is the rider with the most victories, two, in 1986 and the last in 1989.

Booom!!!

He's looked a bit done in recent years, but this is awesome! Mancebo is now leading the race over Sevilla for who can win a UCI race at the oldest age. But Sevilla still has the record for races higher than .2 with his Hainan win in 2023.

Today's Classica Camp de Morvedre and 4 guys in the break have 7 and a half minutes over the peloton -
  • Alexys Brunel (TotalEnergies)
  • Van Niekerk (St Michel - PREFERENCE HOME - Auber93)
  • Thomas Brougt (AVC Aix)
  • Nils Aebersold (Lidl-Trek)

It's being discussed in this thread:

Young burgos Bh climber Mauricio aparicoo won the first stage of the 2.2 Tour of Sharjah

Every year the Tour of Sharjah demonstrates how terrible the route design for the UAE Tour really is.
