Recently after a long career racing as an amateur at home i have decided to take the step after college and go full time for a number of years, i am looking to join and race with a belgium based team, to begin with i hav been looking for some form of listing of clubs and teams of whom i might be able to contact and speak with on the matter. if anyone has any advice or information that they are willing to share i would much appreciate it.

Racing in Belgium

Try contacting Kingsnorth Wheelers and speak Pete Murphy at Nico Sport vipimurphy@btopenworld.com or you could get in touch with a bicycle shop in Oudenaarde called Flanders. They have a pro team and an amateur feeder team. Franz Assez is the man to speak to.

Another one would be to get in touch with Tim Harris he looks after riders in Belgium. I haven't got his contact details but if I find them I will let you know.

Good Luck

IIRC all Belgian Kermesse are entry on the line. (There was the urban myth about the UK elite woman who made her 3rd cat hubby do one).

If all else fails show up and see if you can attract attention. Club mate of mine did this for a summer and is doing inter-club races now. Don't know if he'd recommend it though.
