London 2012 MTB Course Video

I have two opinions.

1. This is the new best for made for broadcasting mountain biking. the "rock garden" inspires a chuckle. Definitely a power course with easy passing everywhere. A rider with less handling skills can win this one. (roadie perhaps?)

2. This is not the sport I participate in. Mine is harder. I'm not Olympics fast. No way. Still, my easiest ride is way more technical than that. I want Mt. Saint Anne tough for an Olympics course.

All in all, I think if they get a big enough budget for cameras/production crew, it will be good television. I will get bored, but more recreational riders (a larger audience) might enjoy it. That's the point.

Thanks for posting.

Agree, this is not what I call mountain biking, but whatever.

You could almost race a cross bike on this thing. Nys for the gold.

Boring, fast course. HT for sure. Single ring too? I could see the pros running a 38 up front on a 1x10.

Its a shame that maybe 1% of the course was singletrack.

That's what you get when you put a trail in a farmer's field and pass it off as a "mountain" bike course. The course appears to be designed for TV, with shots from elevated fixed cameras instead of operators taking hand held units into the bush. No drops, no technical sections, no trees (!), I agree that this is more like cyclocross, and it doesn't favour the all around rider.
