Considering his sprint vs Yates and Lecerf last week, i can't imagine FFB beating Lamperti in a clean sprint.

Fisher Black is very fast. he was poorly positioned in Saudi. Also in Saudi it was a flat sprint and here it was uphill. I saw that Fisher Black was 7th in a flat sprint 2 years ago in Switzerland.

Badly positioned had nothing to do with it, the moment he was free to sprint, he didn't come an inch closer to Yates, and Lecerf who had been stuck between Yates and the boarding, actually overtook him.
I didn't see today's sprint, but i read it was at the end of a hill, and there was a 2s gap. So that is indeed a very different kind of sprint than a regular flat sprint.

That was very impressive today and very much reminiscent of a younger Sagan before he went down the cobbles classics route. Footage was so poor that I am mostly going off the result rather than how it was achieved.

Will be interesting to see how he handles longer races and if he can contend in Amstel Gold type races.

Lamperti managed 570w for 4:15 in a training ride today. I initially thought his PM must be broken, but based on his time up the hill where this interval took place, and times/power from other pro riders, I believe it to be accurate.

This equates to a VO2 max somewhere in the low 80s based on 74kg body weight.

Well, he was lead-out man for Merlier in all of the races he rode since March, wasn´t he? This of course explains his results..

Czech Tour is now the first race since february, where he can go for his result..
