Maastritch to Zolder

Looking to go watch the Zolder race on the 26th coming from Maastritch. It looks like 36km on the road but train takes over 3 hours. Anyone know of a better way to get there (and not too expensive)?

A car.

Netherlands-Belgium train service is useless. Especially from the eastern part of the country.

Yeah that's what I've been finding too. Car is out of my price range though unfortunately (plus trouble finding rental companies open on that day since its a bank holiday). Guess its probably not meant to be. Have to find another race later in the season.

There are some bus services from Genk or Hasselt to Maastricht though, they might be a better option than the train.

Check out this site: http://www.delijn.be/en/index.htm just use the planner to find a route from Maastricht Train station to wherever the race is in Zolder. I checked for station to station from Maastricht to Zolder and travel time is 1h21m for that time of day, with a change from bus to train in Hasselt.

36km? Why not ride? Sounds like an easy 90 minutes each way!
