Just putting this out there, but get a strong feeling that the Mantova investigation has serious funding from a certain American interest trying to move the doping limelight away from other matters.

You mean Elvis is behind this because they were close to busting that he was living on the moon with Hitler?

Hmmm surely it would just confirm the likelihood that the 'certain American interest' is guilty if all these other guys were juiced when he beat them 7 times in a row?

Excellent choice of topic for a first post. :p

The Landis story hit just over a year ago, and the story in La Gazzetta had police transcripts of recordings made in 2009, a time when Armstrong was getting ready to ride the Giro. If he's the mysterious American you had in mind, I doubt he would have been tossing cash to police to do wiretaps on Lampre and a pharmacist.

It is the Second Foundation's attempt to reshape history. Lance (the Mule) Armstrong has disrupted Hari Selden's bicycling plan and the Second Foundation is attempting to put things aright.

How would that work? That would be some big, multiple felony in multiple country payment transfers. That would make USPS's potential fraud look positively small-time.

Is this the Mantova comments thread or is it being discussed on another?

Look, if there's no lizardmen, I'm not interested.

Ok, the frogodiles - a weird, secret mutant species of frogs and crocodiles - conspired with the smoking guy from X files (or was it X factor - forget now) to overthrow the government of a fictitious eastern European country that sounds like a real one by smuggling tasty French macaroons inside something. But then something happened and it never got any further. But it was damn close...

I believe the macaroons (universally assumed to be a very effective bribe when dealing with the Crazihkistan diplomats) were wrapped in yellow ribbons and crammed up the poopers of exported Spanish cows.

Unfortunately, a tainted-meat debacle last summer cut the supply chain to "the Crazihs" (as they're affectionately known to the tinfoil hat set), and that was that...
