Mass illness among cyclists, (dopers)?

And here we have it again..
Another rider a in a mess, apparently suffering from some disease that explains everything..

-Kreuziger
-Ulissi

Just to name the most recent...

It seems rather the norm than the exeption, that top-cyclists suffer from all sorts of what-not.. Those who get caught up in a mess, seems always to have somewhere to place the blame with this explanation..

And funny enough there is always no records of these diseases before they become useful.

And then of course inhalor-gate with froome.. (asthma)

So what is it...

-Healthy, and lying (doping)?
-Sick from all the dope?
-Sick from all the dope and lying?
-Just sick from tough life and doping?
-Just sick from a tough pro-cycling life?

Healthy and lying (if caught, as a defense), almost healthy and exaggerating/lying (to get TUEs)

Funny how illness can be an excuse to explain both doping and non-doping.

Lets use my favourite example, team sky. On one hand we have Dawg with about 9 serious illnesses yet he wins pretty much everything. The more sick he is the better he performs.

On the other we have Little Richie who has been ill for 6 months straight and can barely ride in the gruppetto and finish races.

So what is it...

...

It was first described in medical literature* by Willy Voet, and dubbed the Festina Flu.

The entire team needed to get some time away from prying eyes as their HCT were off the charts just prior to Tour start. It created a bit of a stir in the press, 'Will Festina be able to race...'

Dave.

during good old Indurain times the disease of choice was asthma (salbutamol), Uniballer had his *** pain (cortisol), and now it looks it's broken bones (Vuelta 1-2)

Are you suggesting that neither Froome nor Contador were injured?

The way I read it ......Not a suggestion.

Next will be some training wheels to keep them upright and off the blacktop.

How naive are you! Of course froome and contador faked there injuries in the tour so they could withdraw to podium the vuelta........

Thanks..

Ahh yes, that bolded phrase does ring a bell.. almost comical...

A way to resolve this could be a mandatory encrypted anonymous database of medical records..
With identities only to be brought forward as proof in doping cases.. Highly controversial though..
But it would mean that riders needed to have planned it ahead, and can't use it as a sudden made up story..

I think there should be a half dozen Doctoral students following Dawg around trying to work out how someone so riddled with disease could possibly have won the TdF. Badzilla, Asthma, & now, if this season is anything to by, vertigo !

What kind of TUEs can you get for Vertigo ?

The riders who suffer from asthma and need inhalers is orders higher than the average and that's no coincidence methinks.

illnesses are no doubt made up for them to get a tue to increase performance. Though having a parasite like bilharzia in your bloodstream is pretty empirical evidence under a microscope and easily confirmed.
