I believe that subject was briefly touched upon over in the Parice Nice thread 😅That crash in Paris-Nice could have been easily avoided if the organisers put someone with a flag or warning sign.
It was such an innocuous road furniture.

'Helmet saved me from serious head trauma' - Mattias Skjelmose resumes training just days after heavy Paris-Nice crash
I read a confession like that at lest once per season. It's time to extend safety apparel in pro cycling beyond just helmet. It's basically the only thing with proven track record to actually work.
No... let's keep the helmet, as it protects the most important body part and is - as you said yourself - the only thing with proven track record to actually work.
I see, lets keep and implement the things that actually do work. I am down with that.
Okay, good.
So no airbags.
But more helmets instead. One for each elbow, each kneecap and each buttock.
Don't forget the collarbones.
Okay, good.
So no airbags.
And the bikes obviously need them, too.
People being against something that turned out to work well, doesn't mean that everything people are against works well.Maybe some of you don't remember but it was the same with helmets. A lot of jackassing passed around at that point in time. Today people would in general likely just assume, on how it went smoothly.
People being against something that turned out to work well, doesn't mean that everything people are against works well.
If you're so insistent on repeating yourself, I'm gonna do the same: people opposing something that turned out to be good =/= every idea people are opposed to is a good idea. Two decades back not everybody believed helmets are the way to go either.
Last time i have seen it in action was when Lindsey Vonn fell
Sounds like the perfect calm and safe terrain to do a recovery ride.Already training again and will race Itzulia.
A quick Google search will tell you that Lindsey Vonn is a skier. I don't know how to break this for you, but something that works in one sport may not work in another.
Well, you'll never know![]()
