Max Van Heeswijk (Ex-Us Postal) admits to EPO use.

Apparently hes going to do some big confession in a Dutch magazine and give some insights on the doping culture in his time, no idea yet if hes gonna hang Armstrong but seeing how he recently said in an interview he believed Armstrong to be 100% clean, I doubt it.

Van Heeswijk rode for Motorola as well I think so he has a lot of association with Lance. Going to be interesting how he explains his own doping with all the other proven/admitted Postal dopers whilst team leader being 100% clean.

Maybe off-topic but one former Postal guy I would like to hear from is Jamie Burrow and not just in relation to US Postal. The guy was a huge talent beating some of Pantani's climbing records whilst amateur but never made it as a pro and lasted only one season at Postal. Last I heard of him he was riding Grand fondos in Italy. Was his career derailed because of others doping though admittedly doping was supposed to be rife on the Italian amateur scene at the time also.

I wonder would it be a good time to get a 'donation' from Armstrong just now if you were an ex motorola/postal rider to keep out of the spotlight and away from journalists.

He could offer them a job teaching spin classes at Mellow Johnny's.

Okay, he did spend 4 years with Postal/Discovery (and 2 years with Motorola), but he was also with Rabobank, Mapei and Domo Farm Frites. Perhaps it's a bit misleading put "ex-Postal" in the title of this thread?

Just saying.

Admittedly, he did have his best years while at Postal/Disco. Was he ever on a TdF team with Armstrong?

Draws the attention quicker:rolleyes: He never was on a Postal Tour team.

A statement in dutch by the NuSport editor-in-chief:

http://www.nusport.nl/plugge/2579965/zaak-van-heeswijk.html

A photographer was also present. Max asked for the doping confession not be printed and when the interviewer refused, Max picked up the recording device, took out the disc and threw it in the trash. The interviewer asked for it back, Max refused. Then the interviewer asked to leave and for Max to restrain his Rottweiler. Later, the interviewer tried to contact Max again to convince him to give back the disc. Max didn't respond, so the interviewer went to the police to charge Max with theft.

-----

My opinion: Max is a huge idiot if he thinks a journalist won't print a doping confession if he asks after the confession has already been made.

Interesting.
The full piece on Max comes out today.

The interview was mid-June. Belgian police informed of framing of the disk.
NUSPORT decided to wait until after the TdF to come out with the news. No explanation why.
What's classic, is that Max waited for them to come out with it, before denying once more. He had ample time to receive a check from Texas in the mean time. Or talk to the FEDs first, THEN accept Texas' check :)
In Max's shoes, I also don't like the US very much, but I wouldn't want to be considered a federal enemy either, so I can quietly enjoy the Grand Canyon or some good cross-country skiing when I should decide to want to go there.

I wonder what the photographer did when Max started being a little prik. His job, I might hope...
