Eddy Merckx could face trial over claims he bribed police chief

Eddy Merckx, the Belgian sportsman widely regarded as the greatest cyclist of all time, could face corruption charges over sweeteners he allegedly paid for a contract to supply bikes to a Brussels police force.

Really? While the Bikes & Gear Sub-forum might be a better place for it, maybe, but a criminal case involving the world's greatest ever pro road racer seems like something that slots comfortably within a professional road racing sub-forum's scope. YMMV, as always.
