This is user Bilirubin. Today I logged onto my account and received this message:

"You have been banned for the following reason:
Registered with fake email address
Date the ban will be lifted: Never"

This was surprising, because you cannot post on the Cycling news forums without a legitimate email account that can be verified. The system doesn't allow you to do this, so all I can think that has happened is an individual moderator is not aware of the registration system, tried to contact me and had a bounce back from their server. In that case, this can quickly be resolved by another moderator explaining the system to them, and if they have any doubts email me at the same address *** edited my mod *** and I will return their email. (I have already emailed the site)

Or, I thought, maybe somebody believes my email address doesn't sound like someone's personal email account, therefore they banned me on those grounds. But that would be extraordinary. Like countless people, I use one email address for people close to me, and another address for the internet and local cycling club business. That is common place practise and is in fact what all email account providers advise you to do to avoid spammers and hackers and to remain anonymous online. There is nothing in Cycling News rules that stipulates you have to handover your personal email account for family and friends - it just states that you need a legitimate and valid email address. That I provided.

Please can you rectify this mistake and reactive the account. I'm sure this is just a simple era, but I have questioned whether I might have been banned because someone didn't like me disagreeing with a couple of guys with high post counts.

thank you,

Bilirubin

It is interesting that billrubin, who is way too similar to BPC, just happens to speak through flicker...

nothing is interesting in relation to flicky, but it does go to show, in my opinion, that flicky's reason for being on CN is much much more than meets the eye.

at best he is member of an armstrong 'something or other' at the worst he is the saddest fanboy in the world. brings an image to my mind of the rather 'fit' fan wearing the Lampre jersey and shorts, but i cant imagine flicky looking that good.

Someone keep us posted on what happens here? Prior to this happening, we were talking about this guy getting banned simply because he was tarred and feather as being BPC.

When you say "we" were talking - you really mean "you" were talking, as you were the only person to bring it up.

It was me who noticed who Billirubin is - it was apparent after just 5 or 6 posts, but I did not say anything until a while after when he started (as he does) doing their usual BPC posting.
He was not 'tarred and feathered", he was identified- a quick look at their posting style will easily uncover who it is.

Mr. cobblestoned wonders how "bad" or "good" this BPC guy is/was.
He must have had some huge, huge impact on some people around.

Some people here live in fear and paranoia. Wonder if they can still sleep and not see BPC behind every 2nd user that appears here.
I was welcomed like this, too.

Doesn't hate Armstrong as much as us ----> BPC ?, paid fanboy ?, publicstrategies.com?, omerta-supporter ?, pro doping ?, Armstrong himself ?, LeMond-hater ?

Pathetic !

BPC is so popular that I really would like to meet him once and listen to his version of things. :D

After an exchange of emails, this user has been reinstated. He has also been warned.

Or was it Billirubin @ hannibellecter.com ?

Susan

Hmmm...it seems to me that as a moderator of this forum, you should be performing said duties with professionalism and courtesy. I commend you for reinstating Bilirubin promptly. However, as usual, the moderators of this forum(yourself included), have chosen to chastise and attempt to humiliate an individual user by making smart a__ comments regarding his email address.

Obviously the joke to Hannibal Lector went over your head - it was a witty pun and not in the slightest bit offensive, unlike your post.

JefferyPerry has been temporarily suspended for the above post

thats a bit harsh. I dont get the Hanniballecter joke either and when I read susans post I actually thought a similar thing (but i chose to keep my mouth shut)

edit: ok, i didnt see the bad language obviously.

I will add that what I wrote was of course not his email address. Nor does it in any way resemble his actual email address.

Also please note that Martin edited the posting, so that the most offensive language is no longer visible.

had our own version of

the good,bad,ugly

last evening

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjDBUL_zhqs&feature=related "Fascinating. Evokes a sense of melancholy in that it brings to light how insignificant our presence on this earth is...as an individual." video comment - good/bad/ugly

"There are two kinds of people in the world, my friend. Those who have a rope around their neck and the people who have the job of doing the cutting. ..."

The guy registered probably over 100 times with various fake names and accounts, repeatedly lied about it, and did all he could to circumvent the rules and taunt the staff in the process.

If you used to visit CF or DP forums, let me just say he gave Tom Morris a run for his money.

As expected, Bill = BPC. It was only a matter of time before he exposed himself. What is this, 150 banned usernames?

The OP. Has anyone established what the connection is between BPC/Arbiter and Fiicker?

Yes, but only a dozen or so were "employees of Public Strategies" lol.

Clearly Flicker is a BPC Sympathizer and should receive another temporary ban as a further warning. GRRRRR.

It is amusing that only fanboys have received permanent bans - no haters.
Although the haters are much more impolite. It is like a Bizarro World RadioShack forum.

Your posts and threads are enjoyed by many! It is truly a shame they end up getting deleted. Kind of like "Book Burning". Anyway, thanks again and am looking forward to your next "character";)
