Not 100% because the source is in basque and I'm not strong at it, but "Euskaltel" wanted to break free from "Fundación Euskadi".

Euskaltel wanted to remain at elite level and challenge the big budget teams, putting more money they are open to sign non-basque riders so they need to stop their relationship with "Fundación Euskadi" and his policy.

"Fundación Euskadi" wants to keep their youth system and his policy. So the schism was unstoppable. They own the riders but they need money from a sponsor.

And today Madariaga stated that this is the last year of Euskaltel and Fundacion Euskadi togheter. I'm not sure if he want a sponsor for Fundación Euskadi but very difficult to remain as a team and Samuel Sanchez, Igor Anton, Landa, Peio Bilbao and Astarloza NOT continue with Fundación Euskadi next year.

If anybody knows basque or if April's Fools is held at basque country could help;)

what happens is simple. one part the fundacion euskadi continue as a pure bask pct team like back in the early and mid 90s and the other part will try and cotninue as an international wt team with probably samuel sanchez

Maybe they want to catch a big sponsor and sign AC:eek:

No, they release those riders because they can't pay them next year, maybe they go to Euskaltel new structure but they will be actually free agents
