Well done Adam Blythe. Continuing his stellar end to the season..:)

Great to see another young British Sprinter making his mark.

Looked quite easy.
Lotto have an awesome sprinter team next year with Greipel and Blythe as main guns. And some typical classical hardriders to pull in the train

Maybe finally a threat to Cavendish/HTC?

Not next year.

But that Blythe is a keeper. Man of the future.

The start of his season was not far short of disastrous but he seems to be Mr October, in Belgium at least. I wonder if OPL might try having him leadout Greipel.

I can see Adam really going places.

I remember 5 or 6 years ago when he started racing in our local events at 16 years old. It was obvious then that he had some talent...and the mental strength to go with it!

Also, chapeau for doing it the old school way after he gave the British Cycling academy the cold shoulder.

That's still very premature I'd say. He's gotten some good scalps in the last few races but that far from means that he can have a better shot at the fastest guys than other sprinters. I would say that with these results he has shown that he is on par with the 2nd tier sprinters out there like Henderson, Rojas, McEwen (nowadays), Haedo, Davis, Hutarovich etc. But he has yet to show he's as fast as Cav, Farrar, Alejet, Greipel.

Still a guy to keep our eyes on though.

You missed the point, I meant Greipel with Blythe as leadout.
Lotto as threat to the HTC train that way

Ah ok.

Well, has Blythe done any leadouts? Just because a guy is fast doesn't mean they're good leadouts. It takes specific skills to do that well but who knows.

I would say that the biggest threat to HTC will still be Garmin next year with Dean and Lancaster who are both excellent leadouts. I think that Sky could also theoretically get a good train going with CJ Sutton who has proven to be an excellent leadout. They would still lack the ultimate speed in their sprinter to match Cav though.

I think he's been a lead-out rider for Jurgen Roelandts in the past couple of years on occasions.

And Greiple will have to be on his toes next year to remain as the go-to sprinter by the looks of things.

any video of the finish?

I don't see him being a threat to Greipel yet but not a bad way to finish the season, and tied with Gilbert at the moment for the number of wins is not too shabby.

Wow..Nice spot. Great way way to watch a bike race getting drunk to hell.. Somebody had a pint of Leffe unless i was mistaken, I'm going to have to visit Belgium next year. ;)

Nice finish by Blythe, shame it doesn't count towards Worlds points for next year but there you go.

Adam Blythe once called me a "fu&*ing Idiot" in the 2008 Tour de Province De Luxembourg

At the top of a climb in the Ardennes the peoloton split when a thunderstorm and crosswinds hammered us at the top.

I was in a group of a dozen or so chasing the peloton in a wet 10km descent at 90km/h jumping from the draft of one support car to another. It was insanely dangerous, and going UP to max HR after a 16km climb on the DOWNhill was rather annoying.

I pulled the wrong way after my turn on the front and he wasn't happy.

Not sure what a future winner at pro level was doing with the stragglers.....he should have been up front with Niels Albert and Dave Bruylandts...

"Fu&*ing Idiot" can be used as a term of endearment in the UK!

Yeah - I've been at the receiving end of some of that. Don't mind in the slightest 'cos he's got the legs to back it up.

Plus, to be honest, even the quietest amongst us can get a bit loud when we've got our racing head on!

The entire news item is basically "Sluitingsprijs is a big party. Look, there's booze! More party. Oh there are riders, but no one cares. Hey, they found more booze! Great. Party! Poor me another one! ... by the way, Blythe won."
