Neo-pro's 2012

Which Neo pro's do you expect to shine in 2012?
Will there be a surprise like Kittel was in 2011 or like Sagan was in 2010?
Who of the 2012 neo's will reach the top slow and steady by showing improvement each year?
Who wont live up to their expectations like Guldhammer and Kritskiy in 2010?

Pretty sure im missing some (especially some important ones at the PCTs) or maybe some riders might be at the wrong team. But I like discussing talent so go!

If there is any one I should add let me know via PM or here in this thread.

I always find it difficult to say at this stage. Performance up to now, is not necessarily a good indication of how they'll do as neo-pros (for which read - my predictions are always wrong!).

I'm hopeful that Henao will shine, though. There, probably ruined his prospects by saying that!

Does Henao count? Been a pro since 2007

CT aint really pro PCT and PT have pro in them that should be the standard for being a pro!

Anyway I think Demare will have a good first year.
Battaglin will have a strong 2nd part of the year.
Hepburn may surprise.
Durbridge will have a year like Sergent had this year only a bit stronger in the TT.

I agree, Demare will ride very good. Trentin, who went pro just a couple of months ago, was very impressive in those months.

Thurau (Fuji/Geox) and Vinther (Unibet) are no neos.

Thanks, removed them, didnt think about that when I was looking over the teams.

Loads of great neo riders. Henao and Puccio are the ones I will have close eye throughout the season. Demare, Selig and Novikov should do well to in the season.

If we wanna go by the definition of neopros, it's a stautus that can go for 2 years. But it would be pointless since we're looking how the new faces will evolve throughout the year.

Henao (technically he has been pro for a couple of years though!) and Kelderman are probably the ones who will do best in their first season. Henao will be 24 y.o though so obviously he should be able to perform better than Kelderman who is only 20.

Neo-pro by UCI definition means, that the rider, never was under contract with a PRT or PROF team.

So Henao will race under this status, too.

Henao will surprise everyone (maybe except me) and won't deliver any good results.

In the other way, I think the best ones will be Haas, Preidler, Elissonde and Ludvigsson.
