Nice return if it's anybody but Andy/Bertie.

Doh, I should have included a poll. Anyway, who do you think will be the best finisher beside Andy/Bertie?

Horner, Brajkovic for me...

Betfair has a book for the best finisher outside the top 2. Evans is the leader at the moment, just, from Gesink and Wiggins. Sammy Sanchez at 7.8 which seems generous to me.

Man, a crash involving A. Schleck and Contador would pretty quickly ensure some unusual pay-outs.

With odds in the 30's, Cadel is probably worth a look. He's been riding like a winner this year...

I liked Andy at 3.90-4.00. Whilst Contador should win, backing up from the Giro is unprecedented in recent times. Andy should be just as good as last year, if not better.

Unless something dramatic happens, the only "outsider" who can win is Basso, but he himself has had some well documented difficulties. Horner is probably the best value.

In what world did Bradley Wiggins deserve better odds than VDB and Gesink?

In the world where he won the Dauphine Libere. Doesn't mean it's right, but it's not illogical.

Yeah where he got outclimbed in every stage by him. Seeing as the Tour is 3 times longer and harder with just the same time trial he'll never beat someone like Gesink or VDB(barring accidents)

It's crazy that AC is still considered the betting favorite after he raced the Giro. I like the guy, but Andy has to be the favorite until we see definitive proof that riding the Giro did not adversely affect AC.

And let me just say, it sucks that I cannot wager on these races. Freaking US anti-gambling laws...

Unibet was offering 7-1 (or 8) against Sandy Casar winning a stage in the Tour. Seemed a bit generous given that he has 'won' a stage in each of the last three tours. All stages have been mountain stages with a downhill finish (i think) and this tour has several of those, the ones just before the Alps look good as does the middle Pyreneean stage. Not saying i would have him odds on but that seemed a bit high, its down to 5 now.

I didn't even see them :p

Though the youngsters can make more progression than these veterans.

Yeah id have Schleck as a slight favourite but not by much. Its difficult to know how much the Giro will have affected Contador.

Bet365 have a 'top 10' book. Odds against all of the Radioshackers but not by much. I cant help thinking that at least one will make it into the top 10 but which one? Also, Uran at 14-1 looks good value to me.

Just to cheer you up, I've got Andy @ 1.91 W/O Contador:cool:

I don't know a thing about betting. But can I bet VDB will place higher than F Schleck? and what could I win with it?

I haven't seen this bet yet but you should be able to get it somewhere nearer the start. My bookie usually offers head to head bets like this but not yet.

I agree Andy simply has to be great value at anywhere near 4 regardless of the form Contador brings, he's @3.85 on Betfair currently. I can't help but think the disparity in price between he and contador has to do (to a degree anyway) with questions over Shleck's ability to actually stay on his bike and out of trouble for 3 weeks.

There is a market on top 6 on Betfair which I think has some value in it, notable mentions (to me anyhow) on a top6 finish are:

Basso @2.52
Gesink @1.7
Vino @5.5
I personally don't think the Shack boys will break the top 6 but Levi @5 and Brako @7.6 might interest some.

I'm pretty tempted to lay Wiggins @2.8 but will have to see if the market picks up any nearer the race, its dead at the moment.
