Can look at it 3 ways. Best history up climbs? Wiggins, but still not massively so. Time trials? Yes it's not your average standard tt, but wiggins wins head to head 11-2. On form? Close but Westra looked better on the climb.

So, very close. Wiggins favourite purely because IMO they're so close but wiggins has 6 seconds

I wonder if people even look at the profile and see this is not your normal flat time trial but a climb time trial where time trial capabilties hardly matter.

8. SPILAK Simon LAM 55" in tour of romandie stage 3 ITT (23.4km) so there is a possibility... but TJVG should beat him, the harder it is though the bigger his chance. Also I delibaredly didnt post some of his other ITT results...
Edit: in answer to christian like the 8.9km prlogue in 2010 tour where he came 129th or the Giro last year where he came 158th of 159 riders... (last one he must have been shattered though as last stage)

Hoping for Westra.
If nothing else, because of Brad's whining on twitter today.
There you go.

Wonder if Spilak can hold top 5.

Wouldn't say brad was whining. He gained today. He was expressing an opinion that it seems a lot of the peloton seen to hold.

I thought de ghendts comments were more rude, dismissing wiggins. Bit if course, that's ok, as it's slagging off wiggins, that's fine of course

Last year was a write-off for him, but yeah, other than Romandie

Lost 50 seconds to Monfort here

Half decent result at Eneco

But yet again, like said before - this is no flat time-trial either

btw:

Etappe 1 (ITT): Gustav Larsson (Swe) Vacansoleil-DCM
Etappe 2: Tom Boonen (Bel) Omega Pharma-Quick Step
Etappe 3: Alejandro Valverde (Esp) Movistar Team
Etappe 4: Gianni Meersman (Bel) Lotto-Belisol Team
Etappe 5: Lieuwe Westra (Ned) Vacansoleil-DCM
Etappe 6: Luis Leon Sanchez Gil (Esp) Rabobank Cycling Team
Etappe 7: Thomas De Gendt (Bel) Vacansoleil-DCM

Interesting, 6/7 stages have been won by Beneluxteams :p i hope they can continue the trend

It seems like Im in the majority that hopes for Westra, but thinks itll be Wiggins.

The climb doesnt look super hard either, no really steep gradients, so someone who can get into a rhythm should do well. You know, kinda like a TTer.

For GC I want Wiggins but think that Westra will get it. Vacansoleil have been imense this week, almost like they had finally got round to emptying Ricco's locker :p
