For me, this will be the day a group of opportunists go off the front, and make a big lead and fight out the finish together, while the gc guys largely look at each other and try and defend what they have.

Didn't we often see profiles that promised a lot, but resulted in a terribly boring standard-race afterwards ?
It works the other way around, too. But you never know. This is the reason why people follow sports.

I like breakaways beeing successful and hope a BMC rider will win. :D
Some strong wind, rain, field splitting or some early and serious attacks would be great of course.

If boring standard race procedure, then I will pick Haussler for that, because Peter is injured.

This is the worst Saturday Paris-Nice stage for quite a while. Eurosport is right not to show it live.

Eurosport are showing it live. Its tirreno they arent showing.

PN on eurosport 2, Tirreno on ES2 afterwards.

Well, it might not be that bad... it does remind me of 2009 Tour, but then again it's not all the top riders going a bloc with the strongest teams. A P-N stage like this has more potential to break up and be exciting than a Tour stage like this. I mean, of course you're not going to get them stringing in 1 by 1 like a MTF, but there could be a few groups that break up. I remember thinking that the stage where Contador cracked 2 years ago was going to be boring too.

That said, it could possibly be really boring too. I'm just going to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Epic fail of a parcours IMO. They should of made it with a solid uphill finish. Tony Martin (I must admit, I have never really warmed to him as a rider) shouldn't get the P-N win because he is the best time trialist, go on, let's see what other qualities he has and make him fight for it.

I totally agree with that

If Tony Martin wins it will be because he is a good enough climber. Stage 5 had a solid uphill finish and who was setting the pace? Tony Martin! Kloden is a TTer Brajkovic is a TTer. Sanchez the sitter is not.

I wonder if the fact that he is German and doesn't give a huge number of interviews to Phil&Paul and to Cyclingnews.com is the reason for you and many others failing to warm to him! This is a consequence I feel of SA's and others idolisation of LA to the detriment of the sport.

What I like about Tony Martin is his committment to the team as shown by his leadouts for Cavendish in the last two years at the TdF.

I think most of them aren't disappointed in Martin winning it but more in the race itself not living up to former editions.

Well, this stage profile is pretty much the standard Saturday fare.
We have swopped the 15km run across the Cannes sea front, off the
final climb, for a 50km run into the Biot science park.
The positive difference being that there's 60 metres of uphill at the finish.

So, we could have a situation whereby we have 2 breakaway groups; one in the early mountains, that gets caught, then another on the rolling circuit.

I can't come up with a realistic scenario whereby a team makes a viable attack on the yellow jersey..............other than with the aid of the elements and luck.

UK Eurosport starts up live, early, at 14-30GMT.
The reason for no live Tirreno is that Rai Sport 2 (host channel) won't be going to air until 15-00CET and the earliest scheduled arrival in Chieti is 15-24CET.
Even RAITRE are on delayed coverage.
Don't expect to see more than 20-30kms/minutes.:(
