Who was the Russian/Kazakh/something else I can’t remember rider a couple years ago who got to Roubaix to find the velodrome had actually been closed, and had to find someone to unlock it so he could go around. If he's not badly injured, surely the last rider would want to finish. They won't close the doors to the velodrome, before someone has actually crossed the line, right?
That would be Delko's Evaldas Siskevicius, from Lithuania.Who was the Russian/Kazakh/something else I can’t remember rider a couple years ago who got to Roubaix to find the velodrome had actually been closed, and had to find someone to unlock it so he could go around.
He finished top 10 the following year.
My guess is that Fumiyuki Beppu would get back on his bike, reach the finish on Monday morning and become the first Japanese winner of Paris-Roubaix.What if nobody makes it to the finish? Will the winner then be the last rider to climb off? A Last Man Standing situation?
And I know, not gonna happen.
Who are the debutants?Had no idea that Imanol Erviti has ridden every edition since 2005. This year will be his 16th Paris-Roubaix. 2 DNFs.
On the startlist are also Haussler and Sieberg, they have raced it 13 times, Lemoine and Langeveld 12 and Terpstra 11.
Raymond Impanis, Servais Knaven and Matthew Hayman hold the record. They did the race 16 times and completed all of them. According to Wikipedia at least.
Debutants Paris-Roubaix 2021 (procyclingstats.com)Who are the debutants?
Kwiatkowski, Colbrelli, Valgren... would never assume.Debutants Paris-Roubaix 2021 (procyclingstats.com)
Interesting that both the youngest, and the oldest, debutant is a rider from the US, riding on Trek-Segafredo.
Yeah that would be emotional but Stybar is 35 and running our of chances so this year Stybar and next year LampaertIf you watched the series on Belgian television about Yves Lampaert (Lampi), called "the road to Roubaix", you cannot do anything else than hope he wins this.
