Pay It Forward

I was thinking of starting a PIF ( pay it forward) on the forum. Basically that just means giving some cycling related stuff away. EG, I have a copy of "The Cyclist's Training Bible" I would gladly send to a member, a way to "give back", so to speak.

First I want to know if its "OK" with the forum ownership. Second, if it is OK where be the place to do it. Couldn't figure out who / where to ask.

First my motive: I truly appreciate cyclingnews.com in general, and this forum in particular. Neither are perfect, but the pluses outweigh the minuses. I want to show my appreciation in a concrete manner. "Share the love" so to speak.

How it works: In other forums where I have seen it done its like this. Example
I have a DVD of "A Sunday in Hell" about Paris Roubaix. I've seen it a few times and rather than keep it on the shelf I would like to give it to someone else to enjoy.. So I state on the forum that I will mail it to the 5th person who sends me a PM saying they want it. I then contact the 5th person who gives me a mailing address. I send it to that address, no charge. Done. The hope is that 5th person will in turn do something for the cyclingnews forum community. To keep the cost down I can only send it to the USA. Simple

The reason I asked if its "OK" is because of conflict with potential corporate privacy policy.

Yes it is OK, as long as it's giving things away for free.

Hmmm. I'm sitting here, enjoying my (brand shall remain nameless, to protect the innocent) ____ beer. This IS, mind you, a craft beer. And, all of a sudden, it tastes, and smells, like two day old dog droppings. Now, wtf? Maybe it's the cough drop I just finished. Maybe not. Maybe it was just psykological. Maybe.

After all, who cares if it has to do with Lance Armstrong? It's not like he did that much to change the world the common man lived in - unlike other names who are still in the historical span of living memory. We are quickly passing beyond the time, though, when WW2 characters are "living memory".

But, epo or not, Lance changed the face of cycling. That much is fact, not fiction. And, I AIN'T A FAN. Go down that road, and just give me a chance to rap your knuckles with a ruler and I will do so.

THEREFORE, for those cyclists who are less than rabid in their opinions and choices - if some of LA's stuff came up - who cares?

I've got vids, converted to CD format, of almost ALL the USA tv TdF coverage before somewhere around 1999-2000. You want copies of that, and I'll copy in exchange for my cost.
