Yes, but starting from a good position, which isn't always the case for him.

Sagan had the kick and he almost always started his burst right where he needed to be.

If the Longwy stage is ridden as it should positioning shouldn't be much of an issue

Early doors of the Tour but he looks to be in better shape than in a long time and he seems motivated. He could be able to win a couple of stages, if stars align, which could put him a position to be able to fight for the Green Jersey.

Since WvA is gonna stick with yellow color for a few more days and Jakobsen isn´t gonna be anywhere near the finish line in the upcoming days, I believe there is pretty good chance we´ll see PS in green again. What do you think?

according to his words, he was feeling pain from the fall before the first pave, probably hit a nerve or something, as their gap was quite big already, he decided to reserve some power for later stages. He was actually doing better than expected yesterday. One his best climbing for quite some time now. Basically, from the usual suspect we match Sagan against, only Mathews stayed in the front group for the finale. So that's not that bad.

Obviously, nowadays, there are other riders to put on a show, but with untempered training, he will be able to challenge them, he'll just have to pick his battles carefully, like he did in TdS. It probably won't be those everyday sagan action anymore.

I was not trying to put some hype. If so I didn't express myself correctly. It's just not as desperate is it seemed maybe a month ago.

He's definitely riding at a level we haven't seen from him in years. Not close to his prime but he could win a stage with some luck. You would think he should still be able to come close to his best level, it's not like he's 35+ years old...

9 out of 9 top-10 finishes for Sagan in the Champs (everytime he finished the race).

4 more years to reach the number of Champs sprints and top-10 of Zabel. In either case with no win.

Felt like a disappointing tour albeit there weren't many chances for him. But he was pretty invisible for much of the race. He doesn't have the ability to quicken with the best sprinters, which was clear in the Carcassonne finish, and he can't get over the hills like he used to. It's actually quite hard to see what sort of parcours would suit him these days.

Considering his year so far, with setback after setback, I thoough his Tour was as good as could be expected.
