there are a lot of competitions in the general racing thread
CQ game
prediction game
giro game
grand tour game
+ fantasy leagues.

I suggest a sub forum for these competitions to clutter the forum less.
I like the competitions, and participate in most, but think some could be irritated by this.

I agree, good idea.

Timmy, we can only ask for its creation and see what happens when. We don't have any way to set it up ourselves.

I suspected as much. Hopefully the admins agree with the idea.

Thanks :)

I agree. Good idea.

The velogames fantasy giro will be going up fairly soon.

Seems like another dozen have sprung up pre-giro and this really needs to be done!

I think there are possibly two many. Ive lost track of how many games there are running now.

That would be really great.
Seems to be a complicated thing and they have to wait for a software engineer to visit them, to open that subforum. :D

There is a subforum now, but I made a major mistake and merged all the threads together. So I am trying to come up with some solution that does not mean selecting all the seperate post. So please sit tight. I hope another moderator can solve my problem

I should have come here first. I just restarted the velogames giro competition in a fresh thread.

I have a feeling what youve done is undoable. :D

But that really made my day. :D

Saw worse things in my life.
Cleaners plugging out servers to plug in the hoover, for example.

What are the chances of ever having a TDF sub-forum? I don't see how hard it is to get one set up, it would make things a whole lot easier with the increased volume this site will have. Aside from the stage threads, we do have threads that offer discussion (eg "When is a good time for Andy Schleck to take the yellow jersey" ), or to cover a controversial incident (like Cancellara on stage 2 when the Schleck's crashed, when Renshaw got kicked out, or chain-gate), but a lot of threads that cover the same subject, or pointless ones (eg "Armstrong just gave Andy Schleck a yellow bracelet"), and everything is several pages back.

And besides, I do think there is other things to talk about (like the Tour of Austria) aside from the TDF. You simply create a sub-forum, just before the Tour (say a week before), move all threads there, leave until a week or so after the Tour has ended, lock it and archive it, so people can read it, reference posts back there, but can't post in it.

The forum indeed explodes every Tour de France and it would be easier to keep the Pro racing subforum readable...

I think we're starting to see it happening.
Just look at 1st 2 non stickies.

A "Who will win the jerseys" thread, followed directly by a "Who will win the green jersey" thread.

I'm all for a TDF sub-forum, if it's possible.
