Now in the clean era of cycling, anything goes. 41 year olds win for the first time, guys like Cobo come and go, and so on...

Multiple choices are possible:
1.) Fabian Cancellara. He stands for all the ITT-Guys who might convert into future GT-Winners. Tony Martin would be another one who comes to mind. You know it happened before, not long ago.
2.) Riccardo Zoidl. He stands for the (young) guys who win a tough week long tour like the "Österreich Rundfahrt", while riding for a "3rd division" (Continental) team.
3.) Peter Sagan. He stands for all sprinter & classics stars, like sprinters Degenkolb, Kittel or classics phenomenon Gilbert, who might have a try to convert into a GT-Winner. As absurd as it sounds, such thing happened even before the EPO/Blood-Era: Freddy Maertens in 1977.
4.) "The legend", Francis De Greef. He stands for guys who seem to be clean, always hovering around 20th in a GT. Will such guys give in, and try it "at all costs"?
5.) Riccardo Ricco. He stands for guys currently banned. But who cares. Since 41 year olds can win nowadays, it´s always enough time to shine after the suspension.
6.) Vino-Option*. He stands for guys who are retired, but might give a try at a comeback. Why not? As said, 41 year olds win GT´s in the golden new era... May Leipheimer comes back for another try, or... who knows.
7.) Andreas Klöden. He stands for the "over 35" guys who are still active. Guys never won a 1st-GT at such high age before 2013. But everything is possible now. Haimar Zubeldia comes to mind too as a serious contender, or Francisco Mancebo (if he finds a europe team). And many others...
8.) Philip Deignan. He stands for the so called "Skyborgs". Members who think Sky can win with any rider on their roster, than this is the choice in representativeness. But not including Henao or Porte, who would be obvious choices. More like Sivtsov or Cataldo...
9.) Daniel Martin. He stands for Garmin. The clean team. Members who think they still have a chance pick him in representativeness. Or is the window of opportunity already closed and Hesjedal was the only one forever?
10.) Chad Haga option. This guy stands for the "everything is possible random pick". At least he has a ToC T-10 at age 24. Horner wasn´t able to do such things before his 30s...

* I know Vino did already win a GT, but a Vino-Option is a must in a poll. :)

Cav option, please - not completely unrealistic if they do a GT with no-mountains and only short TT, but with 5 minute time bonuses

LMAO! Tiernan Locke? Or would that be too plausible? :D

Before the Vuelta Horner would have been the obvious choice.. Now Its more difficult.. But Klöden is a good bet. Of course he is not peaking yet, but in 3 years time, I think he will be able to take a GT win.
